I used to work at a redneck equipment manufacturing shop. They would power up the units while they were working on them by taking an extension cord with the end cut off, and jamming the wires into an standard three prong plug. Making the power flow into the plug, then to the breaker panel. Craziest shit I've ever seen, and it was at a company making $500K pieces of equipment. I didn't stay there long.I really want to meet the person that did that. I've done some lazy-ass redneck engineering in my day, but that's an entirely new level.
At least get another male plug, so you have a male-to-male extension cord, don't just jam the wires in.
