didn't even get a chance to comply...
Are you joking?! He was on a rampage and fired off a round into the air to keep the following cops to stay back.

Compliance would have been setting the gun down, stepping away, putting his hands on his head, and getting down on his knees. Continuing to walk and firing a stolen gun into the air is the exact opposite of compliance.

stop resisting!

He definitely was resisting in the sense that he was refusing to comply. He should stop, lay down the stolen weapon, and put his hands in the air.

Walking through the street with a stolen firearm and shooting into the air whenever officers approach is non-compliance ("resisting").

It isn't an act that requires having a car driven through the position in which you are currently occupying.

Does it require an aggressive response by the military police? Sure. That level of aggression? Oh hell no. Drive up real fast and hit him with a taser, or make it apparent that you WILL shoot if he does not stand down.

Criminals still deserve proper police procedure, regardless of how criminal they are, or may appear. Too much aggression will eventually turn this country against itself, and it will be a mess. I'm already inflamed enough by the typical police reactions in the past decade or two, I'm too chicken to take part in an aggressive response to the loss of our ideals. I admire our forefathers, but shit, that's a ton of risk.

I think the phrase you're looking for is "due process"

Now have some spiders for posting text in the pics thread :colbert:

Yes, that word encompasses what I referred to. :)

Also, fuck harvestmen, creepy little buggers. Fun fact: they aren't actually spiders. ;)

Possibilities:
- He went to a far more "tolerant" school than I attended.
- He had a surly nerdy bodybuilder friend for protection.
- This is his last known photo.

May the might of the Galaxy Class and Plot Armor be with him always through high school.

This is not the thread for that discussion, but that does not work for suicide by cop situations like this. They saved his life by not giving him the chance to kill himself or shoot at cops.
