Would you like a whale shark fillet?
I actually thought they were no good to eat like Basking sharks, turns out that isn't the case.
I don't think you have to soak the meat in milk overnight either, as the urea levels aren't like with other species. I'm actually curious now, I've had some delicious mako and sandbar shark before maybe whale shark is on par or even better?
I guess we should be happy those Chinese are making good use of the animal, instead of the usual 'fins-only-thanks' bullshit that fuels the Chinese need to appear wealthy at the dinner table.
As harsh as that sounds, I do give them credit for placing a ban on whale sharks. Now they just have to get serious about all the other species they're wiping out for their dicks and appetites.
