Apple already did it with the new plug. And theirs has rounded corners which makes even more sense.

I used to. Then I actually looked closely at how the socket was designed. No problems since - amazing!

USB symbol up... works for *almost* everything.

Samsung does it right, and with a nice white USB logo on all cabling so you don't have to look very hard.
