Holy sheet, step machines are real? <--Never been to a modern gym.

I know and have seen plenty stairmaster-type machines, but not a single one that actually had a revolving staircase appearance. I've only ever seen ones that, for purposes of explanation, looked like a highly modified elliptical machine cranked to vertical.

They have this kind at my gym, among many other kinds of elliptical/stair climber machines. I think the revolving-staircase kind actually pre-dated the other varieties. They are more expensive to buy, presumably due to increased volume of materials and mechanical complexity. They are a pretty good workout, because you're forced to lift your own leg weight over and over.

Oh yeah - I know all about the joys of stairs.
My shins revolt thinking of running them, though it's an amazing workout. I made use of a staircase at home growing up too - in college, we ran the old basketball stadium.

I concur, 'tis gold indeed.

Would have been slightly more cool and manlier if they had used a honey badger instead of a ferret at the end, but that's a minor gripe. ;)
