A long time ago while fishing in The Keys, I had a crab (pretty beat up one, many casts were made with it) on a hook just dangling in the water while I helped my brother net a permit he caught. Came back to my rod and there was a mantis shrimp holding onto the hooked crab. I dropped the colorful lil ah heck into the bait well, which had live shrimp, crab and some pinfish in it. Figured, hey, more bait! One beer later I open the bait well and everything with the exception of one or two pinfish, was dead as a doornail.
Those shrimp are badass.
