holy shit. So many god-damn demanding and greedy motherfuckers. I didn't ask for a thing, didn't expect much at all, and walked away very happy without actually getting very many things.

Remember when the Internet was restricted to tech-savvy people, by way of it being only those who could figure out how to make an ISA modem work with all the damned IRQ and COM port configuration crap? :D Yes, my mouse is on that COM port, you stupid modem! Back to the DIP switches to set its port, then on to shuffling the IRQs around.

Now the Internet has helped expose those shielded nerds to a semi-literate society. (I can't help but think that society is genuinely only as smart as the Youtube - or Facebook - comments it produces. And that's more than just a little scary.)

I has a literacy.

I got about 1.5% of a new car for Christmas, but that money's already earmarked for other things. Dammit new cars are expensive, but awesome. :)

I hate apple :(

Well actually I don't hate them, I hate the culture they have created and the type of people that gravitate to them for fashion reasons like in your pic.

I own an iPhone and I still think all the people in the pic are d-bags.

Like I said I don't hate them, I don't hate their products, I like a lot of them, I hate the culture that they have created and a large segment of people who are gaga over their stuff. That doesn't mean just cause you own their stuff I think that way of you. A implies B != B implies A.

I wish Apple would find all of them, and then send them e-mails saying they saw their plight and so if they provide their information they'll have the phones sent out right away. And then they show up with a Christmas card containing a bill for the cost of the phone (which must be paid before the phones can be activated) and a note saying "Or you could graciously donate them to charity where they could be auctioned off to help provide food for some of the millions of people starving, Merry Christmas, assholes".

That's certainly crafty. Have to get the current just right to avoid toasting the polycarb in an arcy sparky fanfare. (which in a right of its own is worthy carcinogenic vapors bedammned!) The radarrange (microwave oven) works for quick erase just limit magnetron run time (when you see the sparks) for a second or two TOPS or you get those nasty fumes - again.

I recently saw a post/motivational poster (can't remember at my age) and it said, "If your girlfriend never used a dial-up modem, she's too young for you."

Made me chuckle. I feel your pain with the IRQ settings...

I dunno. I would guess that if you ran the same search that came up with those tweets but replaced Apple, iPhone and iPad with Android or some names of Android phones and you may find a few similar posts as well.

For example, I found this one by searching for "fuck android christmas":

All I want for Christmas is an Android. -____- fuck my life.

I am sure there are many more out there.

OMG, I use to be the Zen Master of IRQs. I did things with IRQs that were illegal in 35 states. ;)

Those were the days.

So glad I grew up in the time where fussing with IRQ settings became unnecessary.
I still had to mess with them a wee bit, but when it was necessary I hadn't been into the hardware and software enough to ever really see it out of necessity (messed around with them when studying A+ exam material).

I think CompTIA may have even gotten with the times, as I don't think IRQ settings are even found in the current materials. :D

IRQ settings, DMA, autoexec.bat, config.sys, memory managers, etc. Oh yes the good days.
