another cool graphic. This is all the water on the earth, and all the air on the earth, in spherical form, next to the earth. Only question is, what PSI is the air at in this image?

is that only fresh water?
Fresh water and salt water. All of it.
The ocean only goes to less than 7 miles at its absolute deepest, and about 2.65 miles on average. Compare that to Earth's diameter, which is a little under 8000 miles. While the oceans do cover much of the surface, it's all just a very thin film.
All the fresh water might be the size of one of those little bubbles in the blob of water.

Keep in mind that a sphere can hold a lot of "stuff" in it, too - that's a deceptively large volume encased in there.



Ah, perfect.

Pretty scary to see it like that. More than 7 billion people now, all dependent on that as their water supply.
And I wonder what portion of that would pass USA or European standards for safe drinking water? It is really quite nice to be able to get water and not worry about making friends with a new gang of bacteria and parasites.
