I got through the first part and I am just appalled. Their rationale for brainwashing kids is so they, in a sense, have a weapon against radical islam-- who, last time I checked, do the exact same thing to their kids. So, if you can't beat them, join them? Is this the way our country is headed? Scare their population into submission and then partake in the same activities as the enemies we're scared of just under a different name?

It was funny and extemely disturbing. If these people get the right leader, they could create some facist regime.

However, in the radio station scenes, video keeps generalizing that ALL Republicans are radical evangelical "christians." That's simply wrong, and shows political bias. It's like saying all Democrats are socialists or radical vegans that want to replace all farms with soy.

I also find it odd that these people can claim that our nation was founded on Christianity after going to DC and being surrounded by Greek architecture that reflects the Enlightment period that this nation was founded on. Why is there a giant obelisk and not a giant cross?

Richard Dawkins likes to say religious indoctrination is child abuse... well, hard to disagree after watching this.

You people are absolutely hilarious about what you get worked up about.
When you hear christians talking about warfare, being warriors, the battle.
They are speaking of a spiritual battle not physical warefare. Its called a metaphore.
I also love the way they present the disgraced leader of the National Evangelical Association as representing 30 million christians.
Truth is I have attended a large variety of churches in my life and up until the scandel had never heard of the man. Much less what he believed in or taught.

Whats even funnier though is the same bunch here who gets worked up about stuff like this are usually first to start making excuses for Radical Islam,
and mock people with genuine concerns about terrorism.

Well right back at ya , if this stuff genuinely scares you, I suggest you find your teddy and thumb and comfort yourself.

That's a lie, they usually lump the two together. Those like you are always clamoring for the moderate Muslims to denounce the radical Muslims (and rightfully so) yet you then defend the radical Christians.

The movie came out quite a bit before we found out Haggard had a thing for male hookers. I doubt you'd have an issue with it if that nugget never came out.

These kids are being frightened into this.

And now they condemn other churches who aren't like them.....nice

Wow...they are anti-government as well.

This film is proof that the "culture war" is being waged by the Christians in this country not against Christians. It's clear they want this country to be re-made in their image under their one religion.

Well, let's take a look at the numbers, shall we?

In the broadest sense, according to Gallup polls, the number of persons in the United States who described themselves as either Evangelical or Born-Again between 1976 and 2001 fluctuated between 33 percent and 47 percent with a reasonable estimate being 35 percent of the population or just over 102 million people in 2003. There seems to be a small long-term increase in the number of people reporting themselves in this category with 34 percent in election year 1976 and 45 percent in election year 2000. Using a different methodology and set of definitions, Barna Research has found that 41 percent of the population identifies as Born-Again using a broad definition, but only 8 percent accept all the tenets in a list of strict conservative doctrinal beliefs.

Source

So around 35% of Americans consider themselves Evangelical or Born-Again, with about 8% accepting all of the tenets of strict conservative doctrinal beliefs. So let's use that number. 24 Million Americans believe the same thing these 'Jesus Camp' folks believe.

Futher statistics:

By all accounts, pentecostalism and related charismatic movements represent one of the fastest-growing segments of global Christianity. According to the World Christian Database, at least a quarter of the world's 2 billion Christians are thought to be members of these lively, highly personal faiths, which emphasize such spiritually renewing "gifts of the Holy Spirit" as speaking in tongues, divine healing and prophesying. Even more than other Christians, pentecostals and other renewalists believe that God, acting through the Holy Spirit, continues to play a direct, active role in everyday life.

Source

So don't act like this is some small sub-set of Christianity, because it's clearly not.

What are people so concerned about?

"People voting and trying to affect politics!!!" Last time i checked, despite the "seperation of church and state" religous folks are allowed to vote and hold office. I may not agree (doctrinally) with Joe Libermen - but i'm not fearful that he is faithful to his religion AND holds a senate seat.

"Parents teaching their kids, what they believe!!!" - As parents that's part of your job is to teach your kids about life. IF there is something that is so important to you, how can you not teach your kids about it?

All those worried about the 'war' and 'army' aspect of this, two things it is either: a) a metaphor or b) spirtial warefare. Concepts of the later are found in the New Testment. No one is talking about about killing non-believers or forcing those to convert.

And if it were a Muslim group you know damn well the nutcakes would be tripping over each other to get rid of this "plague".

But they're Christian, so it's A-OK

QFT. Could imagine the uproar if 8% of the U.S. were militant muslims and started setting up indoctrination centers? Oh sweet Jesus . . . .

I'm not a member of such a group, nor do I agree with them. However, I know enough about them to say that not all who believe in 'conservative doctrine' behave like these guys. You're all about hasty generalizations when it comes to religion.
