Wow. He died? Knowing that he is dead is almost arousing but I don't think the world is ready for the raging boner it'd give me.

Thank god.

Can we get Pat Buchannon next?

Is that the guy who was illegally buying and was addicted to oxycotin....

or is it the guy that sexually harasses his female coworkers while shoving a dildo up his ass?

I lost track these days.

How is it immature to speak poorly of someone who spent his entire adult life spreading a culture of hate and intolerance? Try not to stub your big toe when you fall off your high horses folks

Respect is earned.

Respect is earned.

Fixed.

As much as I dislike the person, particularly for what he did to Jim Bakker, I cannot feel happy at his death. Sorry guys.😱

In passing, we typically reflect on a person's greatest contributions to humanity.

Falwell's greatest contribution was dying.

thank God...

this is almost as awesome as whenever i found out paris hilton was going to jail

exit: i think i'm going to have a 'jerry falwell's dead' party this weekend... planning it as we speak 🙂 i hope there's good weather this weekend.

Hey, have you seen anyone badmouthing any of the folks who died at VTech? I'll bet they weren't all saints either, but we all showed them the respect they clearly deserved. Why can't we do that for Falwell, too?

I think Falwell's record in life speaks for itself; he clearly is not deserving of respect in death.

(Here come the revisionists!)

i just took a huge crap and wiped my butt thinking about how it'd be funny if i had jerry falwell toilet paper... like, having his likeness printed on the toilet paper with his tongue sticking out as if to lick something.

that's about as much respect as he deserves... a thought of his likeness on toilet paper while i was wiping my ass.

edit: the vt students were innocent kids... they didn't deserve to be murdered. even though, technically, murder DOES result in sudden heart failure, sudden heart failure isn't murder. the innocent people at vt were killed by someone crazy. however, in this case, someone crazy was killed by God.

All the flags around here are at the midway point on the flag poles (not sure what the term is for that), did they order that for Jerry Falwell? If so, that sucks.

No, it's already a designated half-mast day in some areas for cops and firefighters killed in the line of duty.

he won't be missed except by the religious right.

and who the ****** cares what those loonies think.

deep down we know that evolution happens, and we as a species shall evolve to a point where these folk dont exist. it has been a long road getting this far, we'll keep on truckin.

It couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. For all the piousness in this thread, he was a piss-poor loser masquerading as a spiritual leader - basically a wolf in sheep's clothing. I don't frankly see why someone is entitled to more respect in death than in life, and I'm not going to pretend that his passage is some great loss.
