Jeopardy record for most winning in a single game has been broken

Then again, that nerd will probably be driving a better can than me. +/- taxes, its still a good 55k~

Yeah I saw the show when he was first on, it wasn't too surprising he bet it all in the first daily double, but then when he did it again in the double jeopardy round THAT shocked me (and Trebek!)

Haha. Betting a HUGE chunk of change that, even if he lost, he'd still be ahead of the possible 10k? LOL
 
He is a pretty smart contestant. And he must have been fairly certain he could answer final Jeopardy correct or the bet would not have been that big. He had $47K at end of Double Jeopardy and went home with $77K .. and he won again Wed night, but that was a tight game until the final.
 
Day after day, I see people who are up in the second round casually pick categories from the top to the bottom. If you're up in the second round, why wouldn't you seek out the double jeopardy squares and eliminate any chance of a comeback by the other two player? Seek it out and bet $1 if you suck at the category. I understand some of the categories aren't going to be your specialty, but wouldn't you aim for a category that you're strong in anyway to begin with? Why not go for the middle of the board where the daily doubles are most likely to be hidden instead of always starting at the top?

On the other hand, I still see people who have $4000 bet about 75% of their amount when the other players are at least $15k. Why make a wager of $3000 of the $4000? Losing all of it and losing 75% will still make you a considerable underdog, so why not just risk it all if you're in that situation?

WTF? Double jeopardies are randomly placed are they not? There's no point in guessing randomly...
