When you see warnings about eating seafood due to mercury content and other similar things it would seem to make you wonder why they'd use it in a vaccine.

The only real lulz from that article are the schmucks responding on twitter thinking they are funny.

It's sad that you're confusing humor with anger. People are fairly pissed about how that ignorant bitch ignores science and puts children at risk with her 'viewpoints'.

And if you knew anything about the science of vaccines and chose to educate yourself with a 30 second google search, you wouldn't have to 'wonder' and throw out random statements like the one above that try to impugne the vaccination program.

And that's why she was able to convince people to not get their kids vaccinated. (The ignorance exhibited by your post which leads people to believe whatever stupid shit random celebrities say without knowing what the actual situation is.)

It also highlights an interesting point, I wonder how much fish she ate while she was pregnant.

Most I don't think are doing it to be funny they're doing it to let her know how f'ing stupid she was for spouting off that bullshit.

Actually since she's far more wealthy than many of those attacking her, I'd say she's the one doing the pwning.

🙁

How quickly our knowledge dies off.

We've got these giant brains, and yet so many people wield this tool as a monkey would a high-end smartphone.

George Carlin had something to say about this kind of thing... It went something like just think about how stupid the average person is, and then think about the fact that half of us are dumber than that.

Funny she back pedaled a bit on the Stern show a couple of months ago. She said that she believed in most vaccinations but did not believe in them being all delivered at once, she implied that they should be spaced out more.

Yeah, another common position among anti-vaxxers or borderline anti-vaxxers. It makes about as much sense as saying that you should only fill up your car one gallon at a time.

It's actually worse than that, since the total antigen count in modern vaccines is often quite a bit lower than "back in the day", even if the number of physical shots and diseases vaccinated against have risen.

Interestingly enough I don't care about her, what she has to say, or what anyone has to say about her.....maybe people should stop worrying about what "stars" say/tweet. They are just other people with opinions. Most aren't any more educated (if not less) than the average person.

would it were that simple

And moreover this whole space them out thing is bunk as hell for another reason. On a typical day any person might face a hundred immune 'challenges' as in a something that can/does provoke an immune response. These people fail to grasp how the immune system works on even a simple level. They have no idea how incredible and complex it is and how fast it works to terminate anything foreign at all. And how a couple vaccines in one day are like just another day at the office for your immune system.

That's a terrible analogy. Your body can react differently to different things. If you give multiple vaccines at the same time and there is a bad reaction (which does happen to a percentage of people), you have no way of knowing which of the vaccines caused the reaction, so you don't know which one to avoid (or use a different compound) for next time.

Generally that's not a big deal for most, but it can be a big deal and I don't have any problem with people who want to space things out, as long as they still get the vaccines.

There is no downside to spacing out the vaccines so they don't all come at the same time, other than the kid getting shots multiple days instead of all at once and be done with it.
