http://fullcomment.nationalpost.com...ts-schooled-on-her-anti-vaccination-nonsense/

Just when you think that Internet commentary is nothing more than a wretched hive of scum and villainy, a light shines through so strongly it can help restore your optimism about people.

By now you know about anti-vaccination mouthpiece Jenny McCarthy. I’ve written about her many times: how she claims vaccines cause autism (they don’t), how she “cured” her son of autism with a gluten-free diet (she didn’t), how she rails about vaccines being full of toxins (they aren’t) while literally injecting her face with the single most toxic protein known to science.

Yeah, that Jenny McCarthy. It’s possible she’s more well-known in the general public for being a comedian, host of the The View, and of course a Playboy model, but on the ‘Net she’s widely understood to be a voice for frankly dangerous anti-vax nonsense.

On Thursday, McCarthy asked a question of her fans on Twitter to see what they’d say. What she got was a dose of the reality she helped spawn. The question:

What is the most important personality trait you look for in a mate? Reply using #JennyAsks

Really, she should’ve known what would happen. I would’ve expected a vast series of snarky retorts about vaccines… and I would’ve been right. But what they said exceeded my most fervent hopes....

Interestingly enough I don't care about her, what she has to say, or what anyone has to say about her.....maybe people should stop worrying about what "stars" say/tweet. They are just other people with opinions. Most aren't any more educated (if not less) than the average person.

the problem is many people are paying attention to her's (and other celebrity's) opinions. And that can be a problem.

Yes, let's see...the scientific community that consists of people who study these sorts of things as their life's work, or a model and actress.

Why yes, I do know how to adequately vet my sources of information, thank you.

Unfortunately as we know, many people are of low IQ which is why they can be easily swayed by someone like Jenny McCarthy. What she's spreading is dangerous not just to herself and her children, but to everyone in the world.

Funny she back pedaled a bit on the Stern show a couple of months ago. She said that she believed in most vaccinations but did not believe in them being all delivered at once, she implied that they should be spaced out more.
Jenny is still stupid hot looking

It's a shame. I can understand a mother's going off the deep end when their kid turns out to be autistic. But McCarthys big boobs and her winning the genetic lottery have gained her a position where she can spout her pseudoscience.

Don't mean to be crass, but it's evolutionary fitness selection in action, unfortunately for the children of these imbeciles.

On the brighter side, the future will be free of these morons and their offspring, which will make room for the new morons.

Well I learned something today. I learned that Dr. Andrew Wakefield is a truly terrible human being whose greed is killing children.

That would be ideal, but you know it does not work this way. A lot of people have trouble differentiating between real medical/scientific information and crap spouted by random people on the TV. Heck I'm sure we will see at least one of those people in here shortly.

The problem is that the diseases they catch and spread won't be killing just the morons.

Nah, they're too small a percentage to affect the rest of us, imo. And anyway, it's one thing to say you agree with the bimbo in principle, and another to actually turn down a vaccine for your kid. I imagine there is some drop off in her follower numbers at the moment of decision.

As much as I hate Jenny McCarthy, the real people to blame here are those who keep falling for this gross charlatanism. Then again, we live in a society that doesn't encourage critical thinking. We also confuse conspiracy theory for critical thinking. As much as I support small government, this is one area where they need to step up and mandate vaccines.

The only thing that made Jenny McCarthy's kid a dud was her own garbage DNA. Not vaccines.

Except some people that get infected by the children of those idiots are those that cannot yet be vaccinated.

When you see warnings about eating seafood due to mercury content and other similar things it would seem to make you wonder why they'd use it in a vaccine.

The only real lulz from that article are the schmucks responding on twitter thinking they are funny.

And you don't see a difference between the amount of mercury used in a vaccine as a preservative and the amount you receive from eating multiple meals of caught fish in mercury-contaminated waters?
