Seeing that credibility is earned and not given, the Repubs have had to spend every penny of it defending Trump's incompetence and destructive self-serving word and deed. The crux of the Afgan situation is simple, after 20 years this is what happened. Is there some massive mistake we made in the last 9 months that unraveled 20 years worth of work?
I doubt that seriously. Then what went wrong? How could we have done this better. The only solution that I have heard anyone come up with is that we should not have pulled out yet, that we did it too soon. So, I have a question to ask. If 20 years was not enough, do we think that 20 more would do the trick? How long do we wait for it to happen?

Basically, no matter how or when we pulled out this was going to happen, so we choose to do it now. That has been the right thing to do for at least 10 years, and probably more like 18. IMHO the only thing this really says about Biden is that he probably has no intention of running for a second term and so did the right thing even though it is politically harmful to him.
