Sessions, who resigned from the Senate to work in the Trump administration, plans to announce as soon as Thursday that he will vie for the Republican nomination, according to three people familiar with his plans. He will face Sen. Doug Jones, the Democrat who delivered the GOP a stunning setback by flipping a seat in the deeply red state in 2017.

Trump and Sessions had a tense relationship after Sessions recused himself from the Russian election interference investigation, a move that angered the president.

Trump still hates him and has promised to campaign against him.

Please turn this into such an enormous shitshow that Doug Jones gets re-elected.

It's at once funny and sad that I could see that happening. Trump is nothing if not petty and vindictive (the US is arguably in its current mess because Obama made fun of Trump in 2011), and it wouldn't at all be shocking if he would rather ruin a GOP Senate run than let someone be "disloyal" to him.

It kinda already happened in that race for Session's vacated seat. Remember, Turmp supported Strange, not Moore in the primary, and while Turmp did throw support behind Moore later, it was clear from the primary that Moore wasn't really his guy (likely because Moore probably hadn't kissed his ass, of course after he lost Turmp shit on Strange and acted like he wasn't behind him either but its because Turmp was desperate to claim there wasn't a link to Strange losing and Turmp's support), which alone probably cost Moore (write-ins were higher than the amount Moore lost by, and it was largely for other Republicans because many wanted a Republican, just not one as despicable as Moore; also because Moore was the candidate, I think it boosted Democrat voter turnout while subduing Republican turnout). But because of the situation over Turmp and Strange after, it ruined any chance of them having a legit alternative candidate so they could've possibly ditched Moore and gone with Strange (the 2nd place person in the primary). And because Turmp couldn't then ditch Moore and go back to Strange after he shit on him. Which honestly, I'm not sure if its even that though, as I think it could very well simply be that after Turmp found out that Moore like sexually assaulting underage women like he does that he thought he was supporting a kindred spirit. Any which way, Turmp fucked up that situation good. Let's hope he outdoes himself this next time.

Outright scary thought.

Lol..Ahead of Jeff Sessions announcement that he is running for the Senate from Alabama, something called Grit PAC is running an ad calling him "traitor Jeff" for recusing himself before the Russia investigatiion.

Trump may hate Sessions but he's most likely not going to lose Alabama over it. Trump will just tell his fans that even a loser piece of shit who is strong on the border, crime, military and 2nd amendment and who will keep kissing my ass like "the dog" he is will be better than a Democrat. And his people will eat it up. They aren't voting for weak dumb Sessions, they are voting for Trump and they better not disappoint him! And Sessions will thank him and say "Sir, can I have some more?"

With Senate control on a knife edge, this is not good news. Sessions will most likely regain his old seat. He's a horrible person but he's their (Alabama conservatives) horrible person.

What a spineless wimp. Amazing he can say those words.

Good news is even if or when he wins I can make fun of the deplorables for voting a Cuck into office.

Even Ted Cruz kissed the sphincter ring. Trump stole the base they've been crazifying for decades. That's right. And now he has them by the balls.

There's no doubt about it. I've said the same both here and other places repeatedly. It all comes down to that correspondents' dinner where Obama eviscerated Trump. You could see Trump FUMING over and over. It was incredible. Trump being the egomaniac he is flipped right there. It also gave us this meme.

So, in the end, it truly is "Thanks, Obama". The dude fucked our country.

The US is in a mess because of all past pro corporate establishment administrations and their Presidents,

Obama beat Hillary during the primaries and McCain during the General election because of Hope and Change, fixing the recession including the too big to fail banksters and Bushes excellent adventure in Iraq,

instead, he got sidetracked with too many social justice issues while wining and dining with the elite becoming just like them and doing their bidding instead of the voters that elected him in order to reverse the damage the rich have done, and that is the real reason Trump got in, not some funny jokes made about him.

This was Obama’s moment of truth, and it happened months before he was elected. Would presidential candidate Barack Obama side with the radicals? Much of his campaign rhetoric suggested he would. Or would he side with the establishment? Again, much of his campaign rhetoric suggested he would. We all know how he chose, and people will long debate whether it was right or wrong. Siding with the establishment certainly earned him plenty of defenders, and it was the safer choice. But it also came at great cost. Only one Wall Street executive ever went to prison for his part in the financial crisis. For millions of Americans, any residual trust in the competence and integrity of the ruling class was lost, and Obama had become part of the problem.
From that point on, it was predictable that Obama, when forced to choose, would side with the establishment. Those who knew best told him to send a surge of troops to Afghanistan, so he did it. They told him to keep the records of detainee abuse under Bush concealed, so he hid them. They said that nationalizing the banks or prosecuting the executives would be too risky, so he avoided it. They said that our trade agreements enriched the nation, so he promoted them. They called him callous when he originally refused to intervene in Libya, so he toppled its leader.

Huh? He did a 180 on the economy, and also brought us the ACA which has been great despite what Republicans would tell you.

Also, your vanity fair link is something to do with bitcoin, not whatever hit piece you were trying to do for Obama. Btw what was his role exactly in the (non) indictment of bankers?

That's because Trump is everything Limbaugh and Hannity have been conditioning their audience to want for the last 20 years.

So, in the end, it truly is "Thanks, Obama". The dude fucked our country.

By that line of logic, well if Bush Jr wasn't such a piece of shit then Obama wouldn't have won, so its really Bush Jr's fault. Etc, etc, etc. I guess we'll ignore Turmp budding up to Republicans that had been compromised by Russia, and then taking over the gaslit cult? And Russian influence. And how the rampant racism and sexism in right winger ideology likely alone pushed Turmp over the edge as even with the Russian influence and meddling in the election still many people could see through Turmp, but there. And that's before we get to the litany of other factors that played a role as well. Let's blame it all on Obama for calling out a slimy piece of shit that had attempted to defame him.

Turmp had been talking about running for decades and its clear he would at some point. He was also desperate to keep his sham brand up, and getting into politics was about the last scam he hadn't run to save his ass. Also, his racism is likely the biggest reason he was so pissed off at Obama, it wasn't that he was being made fun of (he certainly struggles dealing with that, but like you said it was different that time), it was he was being made fun of by a black man that Turmp had not been able to tear down by spreading lies about him. But yep, totally Obama's fault. Meanwhile you guys do the same fucking thing. So well I guess you're to blame for Turmp too then? Hell there's right wingers on here who have straight up said exactly that, that they think he's a piece of shit but that they voted for Turmp because they hate liberals so much. I know people who voted for Obama twice (and said they would've voted for him a third time if they had the chance) that said they did that.
