dude i'm with the others. $100+ is WAY too much for clothing. something must truly be wrong with you if you're willing to spend that much money. and it's not like you're loaded (you stated you have 2 pairs of jeans...) so you can't really justify it.

that said, i find Alfani and Club Room (both at Macy's) and Banana Republic to be good "higher-end" brands and i've gotten jeans by Alfani and Club Room for $20 at Macy's. i think you can usually get them for $30 and lower from their regular daily discounts. Banana Republic is tougher to get for cheap but you shouldn't need to pay more than $50.

I buy old navy and Jcrew. I only buy on sale or clearance jeans. I've a few pair of blue carharts that still fit 🙂

I would never spend more than $40 on a pair if jeans.

You can't speak for all of us because we all have our own indulgences. As long as we're not in financial stress then IMO, there's nothing wrong. I'm sure there are plenty of of individuals on Anandtech who spend crazy amounts on hardware and other enthusiasts with their own expensive hobbies, but I have no say on how they should spend their money.
 
100 smackers for jeans? You guys are nuts. I mean, the same children in Thailand are making the $100 jeans that are making the $15 ones. So why pay more?

Regardless, I actually like the Kohl's brand jeans, Sonoma. They fit me better than all of the other name brands that they had in the store. Not that they'll fit you, but it proves that $100 jeans won't necessarily fit better.
 
Cooler jeans are expensive guys, deal with it. You could say the same thing about shoes, but you dont see people wearing payless shit around. They put on nikes/adidas/rebooks that cost 5-10x more.

Me= $30. Levi's jeans and $110. Timberland hiking boots which I wear every day. Best boots made.

Oh, but wait a miniute, I have to pay more for crap, thin, designer jeans? Think not Pilgrim!

While I do not spend over $30 on a pair of jeans, I'll pay $90 for a pair of Merrell shoes. However, I wear these shoes every day and have been for over a year. They still have a good 2 years left on them too. Cheap shoes just do not last long. Cheap jeans last just as long as the others.

My favourite pair are Bluenotes which I practically wear every other day when I can dress down. They were $40 when I got them, and fit amazingly well. It's been 3 years since I got them, and the color is still pretty dark. I put in the first hole this year by dumping a bike. They held up perfectly during two weeks in the bush. Until they explode or something, they'll still be my primary pair. Material is pretty thick.

I have another pair of Bluenotes, different fit, that I stopped wearing after a year cause the colour got too light. I also have a Point Zero, which is a bit thin and leg-hugging (tight) for $50. My Gap pair was $60, and though it looked amazing when hung up, they were terrible on me when worn. And I bought 1 inch too short, so they are comfortable. Material is pretty thin.

So in the end, my cheapest pair looks and feels the best. It has also lasted the longest since I have, for the most part, wearing other pairs.

Case in point, AE Jeans for 30$. They lasted me about 9 months, same with Old Navy jeans. Levi's 567 that originally cost 60$ is still going strong after 5 years. Also, depends on your build, some 60-80$ jeans are just more comfortable to wear. I wouldn't ever think of spending more than 90$ for jeans though...
 
LOL, jeans are sooo out of style, I haven't worn them since I was four, and the only people I see wearing them now are hobos.

My Reeboks never cost more than $30. That's why I hope at Kohls. And maybe in your crows people don't shop at Payless and other places but I know plenty of people who do. Must be we've matured past the point of buying things for what OTHER people will think of them...

Check out Guess premium jeans, too.
I don't like regular Guess jeans compared to other premium jeans brands but their premium line is quite good.
