Remember their ad where mom pulls down daughter's low-riders? I guess they didn't learn.

hm? I'm so curious...

Here ya go.

while it's up for debate, i'd say the OP is worse. my take on this one is the mom is trying to help her daughter be hip/cool, rather than trying to make her a slut.

Oh, the new one is definitely worse. There was a huge flap back then, I wonder why they think this one will go over any better.

I might OK it if they displayed the intent for responsible use of birth control.

edit: but nooooo... the reason why they probably didn't do that is because it would make it too unambiguous.

haha cool ad.

Teens have sex. Get over it. The only thing they have to learn is to use condoms. Most teens know this. Some don't and fuck up.

The problem is that some people are stupid. Good, they get stuck with kids. If you fuck up their are consequences but hopefully they can realize their mistake and probably abort the child so that they can provide a different child with a better future. I honestly doubt the ability of most teenagers to care for a child considering I am one and we don't need more uncared for children on this earth.

oh my goodness... ban the ad!

we do not need to give kids more ideas. they have enough already.

404 sarcasm not found. i think my meter is defective.

at any rate, i don't think JC Penny should be promoting teen sex.

when i was in HS all of 4 years ago, the daycares at all public HS'es in the tri-county area were filled to max capacity, and new facilities were being built). that's just plain sad.

nope, your meter is good. ::tap tap:: still on "no"

We all know that kids are absolutely sexless until the age of 18, at which point they are magically mature enough to figure out things like marriage, birth control, sexuality, interpersonal relationships, STDs, etc...

they were putting on / taking off presumably JC Penney's clothes.

the gimmick lures you into paying attention and looking at the clothes while trying to figure out what's going on (or staring at the sexy half-naked bodies).

You know, 18 seconds is waaaaaaaaay too long if you're trying to get dressed before someone comes down the stairs...

Are you speaking from experience here?

Maybe they would be if we didn't have ads like these.

Just saying.

We know it happens, doesn't mean we should let companies promote it. Do you have kids?

Pretty awesome commercial if you ask me.

I disagree. And not because of the content. When did commercials, TV and movies stop having to make sense? This commercial takes the idea of teen sex and the idea of JC Pennys (I'm a fan of both btw) and just goes "here's some teen sex... cut to JC Penny logo" without logically connecting the two. Screw the message about sex it sends to children, I'm worried about the message it sends about good storytelling, or lack thereof.

No, and I don't care about yours. Of all western countries, America is one of the most sexually repressed, yet we have the highest rates of teen pregnancy, STD's and abortion, nearly without exception.

And yet we continue to promote ignorance as the best solution. And why? Because it makes you uncomfortable to talk to little Billy about that tingling sensation he gets in gym class?

Pretty sure kids had sex before television ads even existed.

Edit: that sounded kind of pedo, but I'll leave it.
