Currently 57% on rotten tomatoes, 73% for Flixster users. A little disappointing. I'll probably still see it. Anyone go yet?

I saw it.

I give it a 7 out of 10. the intro and middle have problems storywise with a plot thread (kind of underwhelming), however the last act is pretty good. The 3rd act reveal about the main combat antagonist (as we learn a bit more about Jason Bourne's / David Webb's background) is good and the actor portraying him is good in the role.

The last act while a bit over the top is interesting and the last few scenes fit well with endings of the 2nd and 3rd in terms of tone and general awesomeness.

I think the movie is a victim of high expectations generated by the original Bourne Trilogy. It's a fine and decent action movie... just not quite up to the higher standards, imo, of the excellent (again imho) first 3 movies of the Bourne Series.

Didn't like the shaky cam on any of the movies. I've seen parts but have to give up when the camera violently moves around and changes angles. Hate that in movies.

Well, I can say that this one isn't nearly as good as the first three. The problems were mostly in a fairly lackluster script stemming from a boring story. The whole story is about (not a big spoiler... you find out in the first 20 minutes or so)
finding out Jason Bourne's dad's involvement in Treadstone.
and a silly social media platform.

I personally put it in "wait for video release" category. If I go to theater, I will not go with high expectation. btw, is it based on one of Robert Ludlum's book?

The original films were barely based on the books. Seems like they took the basic premise, the characters, and basically made up a whole new story.

oh come on.. bourne is unconscious on the street.
yeah, you're high up on the roof w/o your rifle but you are directly above him and have your handgun.
instead of emptying it in his general direction, you do this stupid thing? WTF?
you're a trained marksman for christs sake.
sigh

also swat armored vehicle what?!
that scene reminded me of the Die Hard video game of last century when you get the Ambulance to help you thru traffic.
lol

Just saw it. Meh, it was okay. First one is still the best. 2 & 3 were so-so. 4 with Renner was a fun popcorn movie, although it ended right when you thought it was going to get good! 5 felt like Damon saw that 4 did well and wanted to get back in on the action. Overall, it felt like it had the skeleton to be good, but never really fleshed out any of the big parts to make it really good. It was kind of about his dad's killer...it was kind of about the Facebook data mining deal...for a moment, it was kind of about Bourne finding a purpose in life. One of the things that made the first one great was it was a very focused movie: "who am I?" This was kind of all over the map. They could have easily fleshed the story out into another awesome trilogy imo...so much fodder in the news from Snowden, Manning, Petraeus, DNC & Russia, etc., and the fallout that could potentially happen from that information becoming public.

The tech portion was accurate, but felt patronizing. The cliche nod to Snowden. The cliche nod users giving 'Facebook' all of their info freely & the government tapping it. The car chase in Vegas was pretty fun (although I kept waiting for the Charger to break down...holla FCA & #garage! :D). The anarchist who Bourne took the USB stick to felt like he should have been a bigger part of the story. You knew Stiles was out because that's how the Bourne movies roll. Nice twist at the end with the video recording. TLJ felt like he was in there just because he was famous...he did such a good job in The Fugitive, you would have thought they would have used him in that kind of capacity as a really focused hunter or something.

Whereas I re-watch the first Bourne movie on a regular basis because it's awesome, I'll probably never re-watch this one. Worth a watch, sure, worth a re-watch, meh.

I thought 4 with Renner was a fun popcorn movie. If you look at it as a popcorn action flick & not a Bourne movie, it's a lot more fun. But as a continuation of the very serious Bourne storyline, meh.
