The way he (Foxx) says "Ohh Rah." at the end of the trailer sent a little shiver down my spine and gave a few goosebumps. He just looked like a Marine ready to kil and nothing else.

The director didn't just make it up...Originally posted by: Kroze
i hate how they make a marine movie but yet the director made it seems like a freaking army movie.
i guess you have to be a marine to catch how marines are.
the movie is nothing like the marine corps. it's a lot more like the army. it's just basically a story of a marine made by a director that have no clue about the marines. how they act, talk, conduct. they made it feels like an army movie...i dunno.

Just saw it last night, nothing special in my opinion. The previews are more exciting......and I never really cared for any of the characters either.

Did they take the time to develop the characters and give enough time for the audience to bond with them before having bad things happen to them?
That's rather unconventional. Marines generally tend not to talk about their own kills, confirmed or unconfirmed. Even though that's our job, it's still considered a very personal thing that each Marine deals with by themselves. It's considered bad taste to brag about kills in combat. That's what citations and medals are for.Originally posted by: nourdmrolNMT1

a buddy who went over to the latest war over there was a Marine Corp. Sniper, and had 1 confirmed and 1 unconfirmed. he was proud of the confirmed. and some of the things they showed in the movie show how the marines can get when stuff happens not normally.

I learned this the hard way when i was a young Marine and i asked a senior combat veteran if he had any confirmed kills when he was talking about combat. Another Marine later pulled me aside and explained that you don't talk about it because that's between the individual Marine, his god, and the enemy.
edit: fixed quotes
