I'm kind of curious about this with my iPhone. I haven't gotten around to re-jailbreaking it with redsn0w, but supposedly this works for all iOS devices. Is there any reason you'd recommend using redsn0w over this? I do like a quick JB!

This works great - I've done it on my wife's phone (when we were at the airport, I wanted her to have SBSettings) and I did it on my iPad 2 this morning. It only took 30 seconds.

Sounds great! Just making sure there were no downsides/differences (other than difficulty/time) to doing this vs. using a limera1n hack (redsn0w, etc).

Damn is everything from Cydia like $5? I'd think there'd be a plethora of free useful apps... am I missing something here?

Yeah that was a major letdown. I mean I expected some paid apps, but it feels more expensive than Apple's own App store on average.

Ok, now that I did it I found two more reasons to Jailbreak an iPad. First is Retinapad:

After you use that you swear that Apple is purposely trying to push people to re-buy tablet apps by making iPhone apps crappier than they need to be.

Other one is Barrel- adds some real "wow" effects to the iPad.

I'm guessing what RetinaPad does is simply tell the game (that has Retina/IP4 support) that it is running on an iPhone 4? So it's outputting in a much higher resolution (960x640 vs 480x320). That'd make sense given the Retina resolution is much closer to the iPad's native 1024x768.
