In his defense Londo, Texas is the most loathed state in the union. It pulls a whopping 11% of the country as the least liked state. That is 5.5 TIMES the average! If a state goes out of its way to estrange the rest of the country, why does it act surprised and outraged when the rest of the country responds in kind?

I found it amusing that 21% of Americans want Texas kicked out of the Union. It apparently is the red-headed stepchild of America.

Good gawd man, I have suffered far worse insults on this board and so has just about everybody else. Are you saying that TH got his feelings hurt or something?

Cliven was grazing his animals on federal land without paying it for it. How would you like it if your neighbor started having his dog shit on your yard everyday? Cliven was and is a freeloading scumbucket.

You realize that personal attacks are the chocolate syrup on the ice cream here don't you? People work very hard to come up with those clever putdowns. Much of the entertainment value comes from particularly pithy and rancid insults. Are you some kind of schoolmarm? Loosen up a little and enjoy the show!

can someone tell me what happened to the old bshole? Looks like these posts escaped the purge that the bshole account experienced c. 2016 or 2017 or whenever it was that it went into full humorless, batshit loonytoons conspiracy territory.

some say it's the same person that just..."went off," drank the blood of Trumpism and commended his soul to the faith or whatever, which is certainly possible; but damn look at how stark the contrast is.

lol--there is no way that current bshole would tolerate such comments.

Whoever posts under that account now also speaks in a very different way than this guy did. They do not sound like the same person to me.

I’m not the kind of person who generally believes in that sort of nonsense (as who gives enough of a shit about this place to do that?) but the difference here is pretty stark.

Still think it isn’t a legitimate concern with the current President/Steward?

Has Texas vowed to liberate all the northern cities occupied by National Guard yet?
I can't say I've been convinced it's a legitimate concern at this point, but I can understand why people would be worried about it.

If we are discussing some military takeover of civilian government in some states then I think the chances of that are very low.

The way American state sovereignty dies is the way American democracy in general is dying, slowly and in many ways imperceptibly in a day to day sense. The feds do what they are already doing with the pandemic - favor states and areas for aid that offer political support in exchange. Make it clear that if you want the federal tax dollars you send out to come back you need to play ball.

I’m trying to remember that time when Obama tear-gassed the Tea Partiers in order to get to a photo op with Beyoncé and Jay-Z. When did that happen?

Dude this is easy. I’ll pretend I’m a deplorable

“MAGA people are too respectful to do that. Obama wanted to but he never had the chance”

In order to maintain the madness of paranoid fear you have to constantly gin up conspiracy theories. But the thing that can produce absolute terror is peace and calm. Imagine discovering your completely insane and there is nothing really wrong. All that time and energy spent for nothing.

Replace Obama with Trump and “Jade Helm” with “Operation Themis” and let’s see how quickly the right takes up arms for sweet liberty.

Trump, Barr and Esper are using DC as a practice run for using the US Army against civilians, because there’s a legal argument that citizen residents of DC have fewer rights than those of “real” states (no posse comitatus issue!)

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump ordered military aircraft to fly above the nation’s capital Monday night as a “show of force” against demonstrators protesting the death of George Floyd, according to two Department of Defense officials.

Show-of-force missions are designed to intimidate and, in combat zones, warn opposing forces of potential military action if provoked. The officials, who insisted on anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss ongoing operations publicly, did not say how many or what type of aircraft had been mobilized.

Videos and photographs posted on social media showed helicopters flying low over buildings and hovering just above groups who were on the street despite a district-wide curfew.

On Tuesday, roughly 700 members of the Army’s 82nd Airborne Division had arrived at two military bases near Washington. Another 1,400 soldiers are ready to be mobilized within an hour, the two Pentagon officials said. The soldiers are armed and have riot gear as well as bayonets.

The officials said the mission has been named “Operation Themis.” In Greek mythology, Themis was a titaness of divine law and order, whose symbols are the scales of justice.

yes, I agree. Some here are certain that he's just gone through a reformation...but it's a complete 180. Perspective and language. His voice is now so...specifically, deliberately cold.

old bshole used to pm me regularly, too. There was this "appoval-seeking" that I thought a bit odd at times, but whatever. Seemed like a chill, honest dude, figuring things out.

Outside of cult indoctrination and/or serious mood-altering medication or even surgery, it's an entirely different person. I recall the very first bizarre post and, on the same day, nearly all previous posts erased...pretty thoroughly. That's why I was glad to find this treasure trove of archived, untouched bshole posts before the account/brain-jacking.

I wonder if he's getting paid by one of those nebulous political operative groups to just post their shit. Yes, this is a very real thing.

Remember how he started the Wisconsin Foxconn thread? That was started with old bshole, and those original posts were stridently anti-Foxconn, anti-walker, what an utter boondoggle that nonsense would be. ....that's also close to the final days of old bshole, because all of those posts were deleted, and the bshole voice completely swapped in that thread.

He pm’d me once as well and he struck me as someone who was dealing with a lot of personal stuff and possibly in therapy (medical or psychological).

I remember a thread where he was freaking out not being able to buy a stove without sabbath mode. Those were the days.

I read a book that among other things mentioned how radio analysts during WWII could identify individual subs by the way their telegraph operators transmitted their messages. Each operator had a uniquely identifiable “fist”.

bshole’s “fist” has completely changed.
