The Vance material, now that we can see it, was definitely publishable and news outlets ran way more vapid low relevance pieces in 2016 from the Podesta email hack.

I would not say I am overly impressed with the editorial decisions being made that wildly favor Trump at almost every turn somehow.
This is a tough call because maybe post 2016 they saw what damage inaccurate or missing context leaks can do and have changed their ways.
I am on the fence on the leaks, we really shouldn’t be getting election advice from an adversary particularly when we do not know its accuracy. I also KNOW if this was Kamala Trump & company would be all over it and they have stated news doesn’t need to be accurate.

Trump was aske he got leaked material on an opponent he said he would look at it. So fair game, right?

The issue here is major news outlets have gone out of their way to NEVER say that there was anything wrong with their coverage in 2016.

If they came out and said 'we made a mistake in 2016 with our coverage of Clinton and have since revised our policies' I am totally fine with that. My problem is they happily published hacked material in 2016 and now refuse to with no explanation as to the change in policy.

It's worse than that, they've gone all in on defending it vigorously. See: Habermann, Maggie and Vogel, Ken.

How do you have an independent honest press when advertising dollars finance the operation and ownership of media is monopolized by profit seekers?

If Vance got hit by a toilet seat falling out of a passing airplane, that would be poetic justice. He is just as shitty as Trump, and Musk, which is, essentially, pure evil pieces of garbage soulless ghouls.

So now Fox News is making fun of MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhl for fact checking everything Shady Vance says, even when joking, like when his son eats 14 eggs for breakfast.

So he has the same skill as Trump, to throw in enough “jokes” so that he can apply the joke defense to anything he says. And therefore say anything.

JD Vance has cited Curtis Yarvin has one of the people that guide his political philosophy. Yarvin is one of the anti-democracy people Vance follows. Yarvin has said the following...

Yarvin argues, is for the American oligarchy to give way to a monarchical leader styled after a start-up CEO — a “national CEO,” [or] what’s called a dictator,” as Yarvin has put it
He wants a dictator. Vance needs to be pressed on this considering Trump said he wanted to be a dictator on day 1.

Yea yea, Peter Thiel is in the same camp.

In two years Trump is fried and Vance has 6 years to shred the document.

So his speech in Europe went to a new depth. Chiding them for trying to suppress far-right extremists has to just totally confirm to the Europeans that the US is in a complete crisis situation.

Yup - Trump and Vance trying to spread the US's new embrace of far-right ideology.

It's the Viktor Orban MO. Remember he was at CPAC right? This is the cookbook.

So when you wonder how the Trump cult in the US is going to seize total power and knock over democracy just look towards how Viktor did it in Hungary.
