Republicans and some independents will probably just say it's refreshing that JD is so honest. You have to admit, it takes guts to just come out and say school shootings are a fact of life (they are, due to gun nuttery) and that he made up that pet-eating shit (he did, or at least pushed it onward).

Either one of those items would have probably ended the political careers of someone in the pre-Trump world. As would believing in something as insane as qAnon. Welcome to modern crazytown America.
The same honest JD that admitted to Dana Bash he "created" the Haitians eating dogs and cats story?

Yeah I'm not sure what it's called when Vance and Lewandowski truthfully say that their plan is to lie to us.
Worked for the Bushies. Rumsfeld held a press conference on 9/12/2001 and told the American people that the Bush administration intended to lie to them about all aspects of the war they were planning. People cheered.

I will say that demonizing Haitian immigrants is a great electoral strategy. Almost up there with angering the Swifties.

There's probably a few 100k that are registered voters in FL ...

Trump was asked to condemn the bomb threats to schools and wouldn’t do it. So Vance wants an apology for events that he and his boss caused and doesn’t think are bad.

An opinion piece by Sofia Nelson and an NPR interview with them goes into some interesting points about what happened to JD and why he acts the way he does now. They used to be friends starting in law school and even though Sofia is trans and JD conservative, "Respectful dialogue across difference I think was the key to our friendship." JD even brought Sofia home baked goods to the hospital after gender affirming surgery. After law school, they remained friends and communicating multiple times a year by email. Sofia, JD, and JD's now wife were all part of the same small group of friends, "an island of misfit toys". The change came when he joined in with the neo-liberal movement after converting to Catholicism. When JD ran for Senate, all communications ended, the friendship over.

"Despite the time we spent as friends, I have no real insights (other than political expediency) into what drew him to post-liberal men like the academic Patrick Deneen, columnist Sohrab Ahmari, legal scholar Adrian Vermeule and expat journalist and author Rod Dreher, who was present for Vance’s baptism into the Catholic Church in 2019. What I do know is that Vance used to condemn Trump’s racism and be empathetic to how such rhetoric made Americans feel unwelcome in their own country. But these men have had an obvious and heartbreaking effect on Vance’s worldview."

"There is some policy overlap between MAGA and post-liberalism in their shared opposition, for example, to immigration and transgender rights. But the ideological overlap between the groups is a shared affinity for authoritarianism. The post-liberal right, which has goals that even MAGA Republicans would find extreme, is attempting to hijack the MAGA movement to push its own agenda."

"Unlike the MAGA movement, which is led by a candidate who is defiantly amoral, post-liberalism is steeped in a revolutionary religiosity. Its goals include replacing our social and political power structures with a new social order rooted in a misogynist understanding of gender, sexuality, marriage and reproduction closely tethered to Catholic social teachings. This is reflected in Vance’s obsession with birth rates and the way he belittles women without children."

I doubt it's any mystery. it's $$$$$. I'd guess a lot of the most successful wacko influencers and "news" figures (jesse Watters et al) don't even believe one word they are saying. They've found a way to make bank, like some actor getting a breakthrough role playing a serial killer. Problem is, everyone knows the actor is acting, the words these other boobs say are taken seriously by a lot of rubes. And for the record it doesn't matter if they believe the words or not. JD might, or might not, really believe his own garbage but he's still responsible for it.

Since JD has said it's ok to create stories hoping a reporter has the stones to ask him about fucking a couch.

After all, people are saying.

JD Vance needs his wife to teach him how to put on his eyeliner correctly. JFC JD, have some subtlety, you don’t need to cake your face in makeup!

I hope everyone fires up the JD Vance fucks couches rumor again. After all it’s ok to “ create” stories.

I hope a reporter asks him “I heard people are saying you have sex with couches”

After he rants at the press remind him he said it’s ok to create a story and constituents are saying.
