I'm looking for a good HiFi VCR deal?

Brand isn't the most important thing but I'd like if possible to have it use one of my existing Proscan TV or DVD or Sony HT Receiver remote.
 
My friend wants a pretty powerful laptop (2.0+ghz proc, 512mb RAM, 64mb video card, etc.), but can only spend $2000. Anywhere he can get one, or is there some good deals/coupons going on somewhere?

Guess I was a to short on my description. I'm thinking of putting the unused 4 pin plug on my power supply to work running my fans.
I've looked through molex's site with no luck. Any ideas would be appreciated.
