I've waited 16 years, what's another couple weeks?

Car came off the transport last night after dark so I don't have a ton of pictures yet but here's one:

The tire store failed me with the rears they brought in, 11th week of 2007... So they're getting another set in which will hopefully be newer. Until then it's seen about 60 miles of gentle low speed driving and ~3 miles to work this morning of the same. After today it's going in the garage until I get new tires, the ones on it are definitely not ideal.

Definitely a completely different league of power, and 100% worth the wait. The colored stripes are vinyl which was a somewhat pleasant surprise. Given the low mileage I'm guessing it hasn't spent a lot of time in the sun so hopefully there's not too much fading. It's a little dusty/grimy, more pictures to come after a good detail.

Wait, you're getting new tires and we're not getting a smokey burnout pic with the old ones? We're getting Viper GTS'd!!! :awe:

Maybe it's the angle of the picture, but can the car be lowered any? The big gaps between the wheels and body always drove me nuts on my C5 until I lowered it and the Viper is similarly afflicted.

I had the same thought, but I've noticed that pictures taken at night with a flash exacerbate that appearance. I'm reserving judgement until I see picture in daylight.

It's better in daylight. The flash illuminates the entire wheel well that would normally be dark.

It's already dangerously low, I gave it a good scrape once already. Being dark probably didn't help my perception of the driveway but I would never have expected it to scrape where it did. No desire to go lower.

A daylight picture (getting DEQ tested, that's not me):

I got caught in the rain later that day. No harm done thanks to the soft top in the trunk but now it's got some nice water spots. Really needs that detail now.

I did manage to get ~150 miles in over the weekend between showers. My first fill with mileage to calculate was 92 miles on 11.3 gallons. Hurray for 8 MPG!
