I've waited 16 years, what's another couple weeks?

Congrats! Such a glorious ride. I want to burn the stock tires off our viper and get those PS2's on there as well. I can't even take corners faster than my wrx, those runflats are pure trash.

Forgive me but why is buying a car that is similar but different from the car you really want considered a stepping stone?

Either way, congrats!

Yes but... it's not like this car is going to magically turn into a GTS...

No but he can enjoy driving A Viper while saving up the difference.

It's alot easier to move up to the next car when you already have one of value that's completely paid for to sell/trade and haven't had a car payment in years.

Sounds like he may even want to collect multiple Vipers : (OP "hopefully first of many"). In which case having a Viper, any Viper, will keep you content and buy you more time that you're willing to wait to save up for the next one without that money burning a hole in your pocket. You're also less likely to jump the gun and have the luxury of waiting for the perfect deal and less likely to impulse buy the wrong car when you already have a car that is 90% of what you want.

Yep pretty much this. There will be more of these, this is just the first (and I was heavily influenced by a gorgeous summer evening here in the pacific northwest when I really wished I could take the top off of my Mustang).

Next ones (in order of priority):

Gen 2 GTS
Gen 3/4 Coupe

And really my obsession has been wider than solely the GTS - All Vipers are awesome, the GTS just happens to be the best of them.

Viper GTS

Enjoy prying the engine out of your lap when you wreck it. 😛

Kidding (on the wrecking part, I know you'll baby it).

Quick update lest anyone accuse me of pulling a Castiel...

Car is going on an enclosed transport today. Expected delivery mid next week.

Viper GTS
