Should we not be concerned that Trump is operating on basic denial of reality that our situation with COVID-19 is vastly worse than our peers (as a whole)? Regardless of how literally accurate any of his statements to this effect might be, the implication and only reason to make such statements is that our peers are having similar experiences but simply failing to identify them.

Denial will only get you so far... Of course projection has been successful for much of America in the past to pick up where it leaves off.
Of course we should be concerned. Everyone is fucking concerned. Except the states sucking up to him.

Yeah it'll be fun to see what Biden says if elected. My favorite one is All men and women created by — you know, you know, the thing.

Great confidence when he cant even remember the Declaration of Independence.

lol
So it's gona be "yea, but Biden". Hear the snickers, related to your thin grasp of proportion?

Its been up before, but again with this in mind, imagine you are Angela Merkel with a doctorate in fucking quantum chemistry, engaging in negotiations with Donnie fucking 2/100th scoop?
Imagine the terror you must have felt when you engaged with him face to face for the first time ... it has got to be "Scheiße, wir werden alle gefickt"

Yup, like conservatives have a leg to stand on. When you base has the attention span of goldfish, you can say anything while they cheer

Considering how Trump comes up with those baseless, unsubstantiated wildly accusatory spitballs of his at his rallies that drives his audiences into a feverish mob, it all comes down to his well trained well conditioned crowd experiencing the Pavlov effect whereby Trump intuitively times those trigger words of his that invariably has is crowd drooling for more and more every time he hits that trigger while all of it, ALL of it is bullshit shaped to look like prime red meat.

Narcissistic personality disorder isn't sufficient to explain Trump. He is overflowing with self pity and is incapable of understanding how his actions have influenced his current lack of popularity. He is lacking in the most basic intellectual skills. He should also have at least a slight understanding of the dangers of surrounding yourself with yes people.

He sounds like a five-year-old surrounded by a highly dysfunctional family. It’s part of his personal psycho-pathology, but in fact he quickly discovered in 2016 that it is very appealing to a significant portion of the population who hold forth the entitlement of a pampered five-year-old.

I actually think this is pretty sufficient to explain him:

"President Trump’s niece describes him in a much-awaited tell-all book as a child in an adult’s body, someone psychologically brutalized and damaged by his “sociopath” father and who developed defenses of anger and distrust to mask his own chronic insecurities." - New York Times article 7/7/20.

Yeah people keep saying he's just a narcissist but I've been arguing for years its WAY more than that. He is dangerously spoiled, privileged, and ignorant, as well as cowardly and lazy.
Donald is actually a perfect storm and fine example of everything thats wrong with America starting in the second half of the 20th century and leading up to now. Its kinda beautiful if you can sit back objectively and analyze it, which people will be doing for another hundred years.
