I've never been a huge fan of linkin park

Linkin Park is the most simple-minded "rock music" (I use the term very lighty here) to come out in quite a while. It is pure crap, and combines some of the worst elements of pop rock.

For example, let's quote some of their lyrics:
"when I tried
so hard
And got so far
But in the end
It doesn't even matter
I had to fall
To lose it all
But in the end
It doesn't even matter"

These lyrics are screamed in a high pitched whiny voice over and over throughout the song. Its not like they can fall back on good lyrics to make up for their poor vocal skills, because they suck as well. Linkin Park is what they call "fist shaking" music.. along with Nickleback, Fuel, Staind, etc.

Sorry I had to go on about this, but around my area I've only met two very ugly girls who said they liked Linkin Park. The rest of people hate them.

Why does music have to have "deep" lyrics? I like LP. Catchy driving music. If I want good lyrics, I'll listen to country.

You are naive. Linkin Park's style/music is exactly what major labels are asking for right now. Its the labels that have encouraged generic and vague lyrics... not the other way around. No one wants to hear Eddie Vedder ramble about God knows what anymore. They want something that is universal.
The next time you produce a band's debut CD and it sells 11 million copies, then I'll take your opion more seriously, but the 14-year-old girls and boys who buy CDs disagree with you.

Re-animation is one of the best new albums put out in a while, and thats not even their recent one. I cannot get over how good that album is.

For me, I become very quickly bored with music that doesn't have good lyrics. I may find something without decent lyrics nice to listen to the first time around, but if it doesn't have something more I get sick of it.

Linkin Park is one of those bands, where all their songs sound very similar, but I could still listen to for days... They are a great band.

I usually don't like music like that, but Linkin Park seems to be an exception. Motown and Classic Rock are still number one for me though.

I don't listen to LP for the lyrics. It is good loud music. I like to play it when I'm playing FPS games or driving. I like the song papercut. But, I also don't think the lyrics suck, I just don't think you should grade the music on lyrics. Infact, I wouldn't grade any of my music based on the lyrics. I tend to grade my music based on whether I like the beat and whether I like the voice of the person singing.

I like listening to Enya when I go to sleep. Mainly because she has a soft voice and soft music that go well together creating a peaceful atmosphere. But I havn't a damned clue what she is saying in her songs, for all I know she could be telling me to kill myself.
