I just got my new Epox 8K3A+ board (KT333) last night. Since I decieded I was going to get this board a few months ago I sold my 3 sticks of 256 MB Crucial Pc2100 memory. I replaced it with 3 sticks of 256MB KingMax pc2700 5ns memory.
Well after installing my new board with the KingMax memory I realize that my memory can only run 166mhz at cas2.5 with only the most conservative BIOS settings. Weird I thought..maybe 1 of the 3 sticks is bad. So I test each one seperatly. Same thing with each. None of them can even reach CL2.
At this point I pull out a stick of 256MB Crucial pc2100 from a second machine. I test it out and it runs perfect at the most aggressive memory setting at 166mhz and CL2.
I read reviews about how KingMax Pc2700 memory is suppose to be really good, but I really don't think it's possible all three sticks of mine are bad.
Crucial I'll never leave you again 😉
