Things obviously are not bad enough as Trump is still hovering around a 40% approval rating.

I think House impeachment is inevitable at some point before the next election...the real question is how Mitch McConnell decides to completely ignore a House impeachment and not start a trial in the Senate (I don't expect he'd ever allow a Senate trial to start; not sure how he does that legally but there are a few theories.)

Impeachment is coming, whether the final Mueller report supports it or not. Pelosi will use that threat (and the threat of additional investigations and subpoenas of his administration, businesses and family) as a bargaining chip with Trump.

I have changed my mind on impeachment. No impeachment. Resign-ment. He wants funding for the wall? Resign. (no immunity, indictments galore comes later)

Don't think POTUS can be impeached for being a douche. Plus, Pelosi has already she said she doesn't endorse it. So there's that.
 
You dont understand the political ramidications yet. Trump can only be impeached for "high crimes and misdemeanors", which are conveniently undefined by the constitution. As such, they are comprised of whatever the house decides they are. When Republicans controlled the house, treason clearly didnt meet that bar. Now that Democrats do, he can be impeached for farting in the hallway.

Probably even if Pelosi managed a strategic cropdusting and blamed him for it.
 
No need for impeachment as long as Democrats don't give Donnie money for the wall.
His base will abandon him if he doesn't get it started before the election. It was the hallmark of his campaign.

Yes this is why I too do not agree with him. Because I have to live here and I have a family who lives here. It's tempting to say, let him wreck the country so that they can see the consequences of their bad choices. Yet they'll never acknowledge such consequences. Not in 8 years or 80. Even if the economy tanks, Trump will lie and say we aren't in a recession and they'll believe him. In fact, I think that very thing will happen within the next year.

The only sensible course of action is to unseat Trump and his entire corrupt party by any legal means possible. The sooner, the better.

Of course he can. The House can inpeach him, most likely on obstruction of justice charges, and then the Senate can acquit him on a party line vote. There is even recent precedence for this outcome.

It's true, it will take decades, but it will happen. If things get Great Depression level bad for long enough, we will eventually get the New Deal 2.0. We owe it to our country to suffer through it.

I suggest that you read about the Constitution and the Founders. Ben Franklin said that exact thing. "Obnoxious" would not be "douche" but having a nature that would do things like subvert alliances, attack institutions, be self serving, everything that Trump is. Further it's likely that Franklin would have ordered for a gallows after a criminal trial. The Founders did not eff around.

Know why Franklin was pro impeachment? Because in his words the nation would have no other choice than assination. These guys didn't screw around.
 
I would just let the mueller report come out. I'm curious to see if states will test the precedent of trying to prosecute a president under federal law. My general sense is thats its an important thing as a country we need to sort out. I'm at this point pretty thoroughly convinced that trump won't be around post 2020; I'm not even convinced currently he'll win the GOP nomination at this point. Seems like his party is somewhat turning on him.

If you are, Trump has been investigated since July of 2016. So 2 1/2 years have passed and so far nothing has seen the light of day.

Democracy will not survive "decades" of GOP rule. I'm not even sure it we take another 6 years of it.
