Right, IE doesn't have those problems. Instead, you have dialers installing on your computer charging you $5 per min for each min you are on the net. Then a month later the bill collection agency warns you that you owe them $400. When you go complain to the AG of your state, they tell you that they can't help you since they already sued the company and lost. Hmmm.....
Stop surfing porn sites, you fiend. I've been using IE since 2.0 or 3.0 and I've never had the problem you claim. My guess would be user error on that part.
Psh, to view the fully glory of porn, all you need is firebird plus either open all pics on webpage in tabs extension or the download website extension. That story never happened to me, it happened to my sister/parents. God forbid what websites she looks at, but they do have netnanny installed. And my dad is a network admin, so he's not stupid enough to fall for any of that. I found out after googling a bit that the company is sneaky; the popups have a little x on the top mimicking the close window button, but if you click on it, it installs the dialer instead! And it's not an isolated problem, 13+ state AG's sued the company, but the courts have sided with company

I have had zero problems with Firebird and I tend to abuse browsers (several windows/tabs open with other memory hungry apps open). Also, the menu thing is probably Javascript related. A lot of bonehead site designers code for IE instead of to open standards which are supported by Mozilla (and Firebird).
The Things They Left Out extension has an option for this.
Right click on the main toolbar and select "customize." This brings up an interface where you can drag and drop icons any way you want. I have all of mine on a single bar as well.

I use Mozilla for browsing and Outlook for email (can't stand Mozilla's mail client). To me, I don't see the point of Firebird, because they strip out a bunch of stuff, and to get what I want, I would need to install extensions (requiring time + research) to end up with something that is almost the full Mozilla. I'm sure it will get better with time, though.
Not when I tried it, which was admittedly sometime earlier (right before they changed the name from Phoenix).
It felt quite "sparse", so I just went back to Mozilla, and haven't bothered checking it out since.
Please consider reading my post (posted over half an hour before yours) before repeating something that doesn't make sense (especially when the Firebird people themselves, in their own FAQ, state clearly that Firebird != Mozilla). Ok, so it may be worth a try again, but I sure hope that the stability is better than when I tried it before; crashing frequently while I'm trying to get something important done is not the way to leave a good impression with me (yes, I realize it's not "done" yet, and I'm not complaining about crashing so much as I am the people that ignore the issues that still exist and make this out to be the Second Coming of Christ)..

Have been using it for about 4 months now and never plan to go back to IE. Firebird is much more stable, I can't count how many times IE crashed on me.
Have never had a problem with the bookmarks either.
My only complaint is it doesn't always save webpages with an identifiable name. IE was very good at that - like using the headline of an article instead of some DOS looking name.

The enhanced tabbed browsing plugin that I use for Mozilla (can't remember the exact name) does that. I assume it would work for Firebird, too.
