Just what I was going for. Well done

my first "real" job out of college was a software development gig, which is exactly what i wanted to do. my help desk job was during college and just for a summer. i wasn't even looking for a help desk type of job when i graduated, and i probably wouldn't have ever pursued one either.

but yeah, i didn't make the 6 figures right out of school like of course everyone wants to, but i did hit it before the age of 30. my first job was $48k.

Same here. I also had some time in between university semesters that I spent working and looking for work, and it taught me that looking for a full-time job is in itself a full-time job - so if you can afford to, don't distract yourself by doing part-time work or working at jobs that underemploy you. So I think that if you've got some cushion to look for the right job for you, make use of it.

Also, I think the only time I'd take a help desk job is if it was at a company I was dying to get into. But make no mistake - at most companies, help desk folks are invisible and unknown to the other parts of the office. It's not a linear route upwards.

Well guys, just wait till he actually has a job. Thread title will be.
"I've been employed for over a month, please make it stop."
Followed by constant complaining about having to do tasks outside of his skill set.

This is a very common attitude TBH. Whiny ass fools everywhere.

This is what an idiot does. I've got one datum (in this case, opinion) that says I'm right! Fuck the other thousand data that say I'm wrong!

This thinking is what started the anti-vaxxer movement, among other horrifically misguided and damaging efforts.

That's racist.

I think I know why he's not taking our advice, we completely went around the whole request. He wants us to make it stop, and we have not tried yet. I think it's us that are not trying. We need to try harder and make it stop.

TridenT, why do you keep responding back?

I was trying to defend you and gave you props for 'seeing the country' for yourself and stepping away from keyboard.

But you are now just acting trollish.

Maybe he's still shaken up from the office shooting?

do I dare even go looking for said thread?

You don't have to look. Its got 8,000,000 replies and is still on the first page.

Its full of racist ignorance and hate.

EDIT: Nevermind. That was the Ferguson thread. Trevon is still full of racism and hate but its not on the front page.
