Because I've been playing EQ2 since its release.
In the probably hundreds of hours I've logged since then, its crashed about twice. And those were partially my fault. I was running the game minimized while I had my store opened, while browing in Firefox, DLing BTs, and streaming video files from desktop to my laptop.
Having played both WoW and EQ2, I can easily say that WoW is by far the simpler game. EQ2 is not. I've got a level 22 monk and I'm still learning things about the game.

I had a level 20 NE Hunter in WoW (within 3 days), and I'd already done pretty much everything that was worth doing in WoW. The PvP combat didn't really do it for me, a few small battles certainly paled in comparison to the 200 player seige warfare I experience in Shadowbane. (Shadowbane is too laggy, won't discuss it further) Also, the level of maturity of players was VERY low. A lot of the Bnet crowd migrated to WoW. You get a lot of immature players in WoW. Granted, there are a lot in EQ2 as well, but if you play on an RP server (Antonia Bayle, Lucan D'Lere), then you don't have to deal with it. SOE came down VERY hard on the few people strupid enough to use 1337 sp3ak on the Lucan D'Lere server.
It was kind a funny actually, he did it in shout in Antonica. Few moments after he did it, a system message came up notifying the server of his 72 hour ban and reminding us that such was banned in the EULA for the RP server.
Blizzard can code a game very well, and WoW is a very stable game. But gameplay is the fundamental issue here. And WoW is a very simplistic game. Its like comparing watered down beer to EQ2's straight vodka shot.
