I'm running at 1600 x 1200 with everything cranked and it looks and runs great.
No hesitation whatsoever even during hectic battles.

The only thing so far that I dislike about the game are the indestructable Helicopters.
That is just stupid.

They're not indestructable ;)

If not then they are unrealistically tough. I've shot one with 25 rocket launcher rounds and an untold number of machine gun bullets without scratching it.

Nobody mentioned "GOTHIC" I & II. Its a fantastic RPG. You can do so much, so many side quests and interact with everyone with there own agendas. I loved the first one and still have to play the newest one.

"HomeWorld" is a great massive strategy game set in space. Very good, but kinda has a learning curve.

i'd love to suggest freedom force but their shoddy coding got hosed when sp2 came out and they haven't patched it.

Tied for number one:
Call of Duty, Painkiller, Painkiller Battle out of Hell.
I'm enjoying HL2.
I liked FarCry.
I aslo enjoyed Max Payne II and UT2004.
I'm not real amped about the Call of Duty expansion.
I thought Doom3 sucked, but admit I haven't given it much time. It bored me.
For flat out kill and splatter mayhem, Painkiller (and BOOH) can't be beat. I love it. It's senseless stupid violence that lacks strategy and really relies on gamer skills, just like all the old Atari games when I was a kid. The graphics absolutely rock and the developers' imagination was warped.
Can you tell I like Painkiller? :D
