I finally got my new computer assembled. Not much as far as system specs go, but extrememly fast.
Albatron PX845PEV Pro
P4 2.53GHz mVID
MCX4000 with 92mm Zalman fan (very quiet
, I just thought to try it out for kicks, looks like I'll be getting more)
256MB XMS Rev 2.1 PC3000
Albatron GF4 MX440 Video (While waiting for my RMA replacement GF4 Ti4600 Vivo card)
IBM 60GXP 40GB HD
DVD+RW
SB Audigy MP3+
All the other goodies
Anyway I did not even bother running the computer at stock speed. Upon first firing up the computer I locked the AGP/PCI @ 66/33 respectively and upped the FSB to 170 to install WinXP
disgust:... but now needed for support purposes.)
I am still downloading all the latest drivers and soon the newest BIOS so benchies/stability will not be available in short order. But I must say I am throughly impressed. It installed the programs absolutely the fastest I have ever seen on any computer :Q.
I always thought that these OC'ed CPU's were just faster in benchmarks... not visibly
. That is the primary reason why I never thought it worth while to buy a NW CPU.
Now soon as funds become available, I am gunna hop on the Canterwood based systems
I am hoping the SL6S2 CPU makes it to 180FSB+ on default voltage as I am not going to feed it more juice for a few extra MHz.
