So, I imported all my tunes and the track names are not retained! Alot of my songs were labelled nicely under Windows (Track Number-Artist-Song) and now just show as (Artist-Song). Anyone else have this problem?

It's because the ID3 tag was never properly created. Yes, I have the same problem with some files.

How in heck do I get iTunes to play just ONE file at a time? It just goes through the entire library, and I don't want it to.

I just installed it and every time I try to add my music folder it starts adding songs and freezes (Not responding). I can't even try it properly:(

Found out my problem: kept getting hung-up on my play list files. Silly thing.

this sucks! I'm going to have to re-tag my entire 18GB mp3 collection. That'll only take 10 years.

I'm not sure what you are asking? What do you mean play one file at a time?

OK, what is the easiest and fastest way to write tags. I'm using tag and rename right now but when I try to write tages using info from allmusic.com the track number is not included

I tried adding the My Music folder to the library...iTunes is currently eating up 97% resources 28MB of RAM, it won't refresh the screen, and crashed my TV tuner app...

edit: why would playlists do this to iTunes??

edit 2: nevermind...stupid fvcking DiskKeeper went active...worst defrag EVAR!!!

For fixing tags, there are tools that will repair the ID3 tags using the filename. I used tagscan for mine and it worked really well. Did this ages ago though since I used to have a mac running iTunes, so i basically knew what to expect.

ftp://ftp.externet.hu/pub/mirror/sac/sound/tagscan.zip

Otherwise I feel right at home with the proggie, but somehow it was more stable on the mac (older version running on OS 9.1). Already crashed it a few times playing around with it - OK I managed to do that on the mac a few times too but not by doing what I did on the windows version -

I dont want to use iTune software to play the music.
Quicktime supports AAC audio.. but, I dont like quicktime either.

How can I get winamp v 2.9 to play these .m4p AAC audio files?

I haven't had any problems. :Q

I just went to file\add folder to library and added my entire mp3 collection(only around 1100 songs) in about a minute.

The minimized version doesn't have a playlist addon like winamp does (I also like winamp more for the fact that it's slimmer and it can agree with my themes.)

-The scrolling in the playlist is a little choppy compared to winamp. That could be my pc, but I have 1.8 Ghz and 256 RDRAM.

-No ALWAYS ON TOP feature for the minimized version

-Take up a little bit more resources compared to WA 2.x.

I spent a good 2 hours a few weeks ago using Tag&Rename to fix all my file tags. This should be nice. :D

Those are about my complaints. That and lack of Ogg support.

My gripe is that it renamed all my mp3 filenames and folders, destroying my winamp playlists. :(

I've suffered the same fate as kami. :(
I was changing a directory, checked something I shouldn't have, and now have 15 gigs of music to rename.
