Intents and purposes?
Or is it a purpose that is really intensive?

Sorry.

1. It's a forum.
2. If you really care that much then go find a new forum where they type perfectly all the time.
3. It's the off topic section.
4. It gets the point across.
5. There are no grammar rules in this forum.
6. People need to get the sticks our of their orifices.
7. No matter how many threads you make bitching, it will not change the way people type.

Edit: Oh my bad....I noticed I forgot the obligatory:

You happened to use you're and it's correctly in that sentence. I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that you didn't even know it since the rest of your post is barely intelligible?

Wrong! Many people simply didn't know better, and now they do. Some will continue to bash their skulls against the wall of poor grammar, but some will open the door just a little bit more, now that they know better. This thread is for them...the lost who want to find the way, but didn't know which path to take. I've helped to guide them!

If one thing AT is not lacking for it's people who are very defensive about their own poor grammar and spelling. Have these people not read Aesop's fable about the sour grapes? It's his best fable!

IT'S is a contraction of IT IS or IT HAS. "That car is ugly. Look at its head." is correct, whereas "Look at it's head." is akin to "Look at it has head." or "Look at it is head.". I realize this one can be confusing, especially since possession normally dictates an apostrophe-s, as in "John's car is ugly.", but let's all try a little harder. Thanks!

Edited.

You know better now though :) I know it can be upsetting to have one's knowledge of how to spell turned upside down...the natural response is lashing out and defensive posturing, but let the anger subside and you'll get it!

wait.. you are telling me that people don't know the difference between "it's" and "its"?! english isn't even my first language and even i know that.

maybe i just have too much faith in people but i'm sure 90% of the people who mix up "their there its it's" etc etc on an online forum actually do know the difference between those.

im well aware of my lack of knowledge on how to spell, ive been a poor speller from birth, in college they actually went as far as to diagnose me with a "Spelling Disability" which i found pretty damn funny,

Problem is, once you get fully acclimated to using bad grammar and spelling, you tend to forget it when sending official e-mails, or typing professional documents. I see more and more errors in newspapers too. Sure, the spelling's fine - you can say "could of" all you want. But then, the jibberish at the end of some spams, while occasionally funny, is also usually spelled correctly.

The beagles love guys named "Pete". Bubbas laugh at television evangelists. Spiritualists panic the racing car drivers. Fossils make the best doctors. Without exception, the brats hit on optical illusions. Slime balls are destined to marry cockroaches. Employees discriminate against ogres. In the dark of night, the peanut butter eaters maintain that cannibals say nasty things about idiots.

That's what I'm saying, and I think you give people too much credit!
