That was even a pretty crappy conversion I had going on there.

Your source material scaled to 720p for output by my radeon9800pro scaled to 480p by the projector heh.

I think this projector is the coolest/best thing I've ever bought. Easily surpasses the SVS-PB10 which I would place as second.

I can only imagine how amazing this stuff would look on a real HD projector.

While the page was loading, I looked at the address bar and was all ready to make a comment about "Go for the ae700 instead of the 500", but it looks like you have that covered already ;)

The most high-end projector I've seen is an Infocus 7200. It was incredible. A couple of vandersteen 5As were providing the audio. Even my girlfriend was like "this sounds better than what you have" and I was thinking "duh" ;)

On the bright side she told me I needed to get something like those someday :D

How do you think the lack of the video processor will result for SD content on the SP 5000? People on AVs-forum are only usign HD material and such...:(

I don't know. I've only seen my projector and the 7200 with SD content and both have the fa.... chip (I'm not going to try to spell it) afaik.

I think SD looks darn good on mine considering we sit considerably closer than the recommended seating distance crammed in my dormroom here.

I'd suggest going to a local electronics store that actually sells the 5000 and look at it. Going in and seeing a projector in person was really informative to me.

I don't know if my soundcard can output a DTS stream or not, but I got DDEX to work just fine.

You HAVE to try out the DTS track..it is bliss. What kind of setup do you have again? It should be the third language track ([ENG]) and should work if you set the audio device to pass-thorugh

I have a Chaintech AV-710 hooked up to my HK AVR-325 via optical.

I can get track 1 to work with PCM or AC3 output, but I can't get the DTS to play at all. Do I have to have some kind of DTS decoder?

I don't see pass-through on any of my settings in AC3 filter or the soundcard utility program.
