Remy go to the stats page and click on top nodes... type in the node number and see what it shows for today

Ken, Daaavo also reports multiple machines waiting to upload.. :(

I suggest Find-a-Drug. It does the same thing as D2OL but more reliably. The nice part is the servers. There are three geographicly separated servers and the client can switch between them if there's a problem with one. It also uses much less memory. The client, server, and tray apps use a combined total of 16MB. It's also possible to set up one PC as a psuedo-proxy for the others. All the other clients access the software and jobs through a network share (must be accessed as \\server\clientfolder\ though, mapped drive's don't work). One advantage this has if that if one client goes down, another client can continue the imcomplete job. You can also run it SMPed with a few setting changes (don't ask me what they are).

Of course, there are always downsides to everything. First, the client is Windows only. Second, the interface is a bit screwy. If you want to close a window without shutting down part of the client, you have to deselect it from the view menu. Finally, the jobs are much more thorough. Each one is roughly 10,000 molecules which can be higher if there are a lot of hits. It also means each job can take a long time to complete. Finally, Win95 isn't officially supported. Best I can tell, it requires WinSock2 and IE4 or higher to be installed first. I'll have to test when I get some time to reinstall.

*&*(&(QERWER### I need a decent Ethernet Card!!! this Ethernet to USB is for the Ducks! :(

Everytime I reboot it's a fight to get that thing working again. Well anyway! I am now very slowly uploading and not downloading.

Doh! I guess so.. I see your numbers increased by 42... :)

Bitspit, thanks for the info. If you can test it out that would be helpfull. I have been reading up on some others as well. Too bad they dont seem to return results as quickly as D2OL, but a smooth reliable setup is most appreciated in the long run I suppose.

I just noticed that my nodes aren't uploading or downloading. They must have just started this behavior a couple hours ago. I'll wait it out and see if it fixes itself.

***Update***All client have uploaded finshed cands and refilled queues now.

Same here, full ques and canidates uploaded. This is the shortest outage in the past few weeks, hope it's a sign that they are finally taking this project seriously.

According to DSpy, one of my nodes has done 68 cands today and sengent's only reporting 51. :| :|

This keeps happening and it's back to F@H for me.

Make sure you are watching the correct time stamp since it flashes between current and an hour prior or so.

Where do you check the timestamp?
Now sengent is showing 56 cands done and dspy is showing 89...grrrrrr.

When you go to the team page click on the statistics link at the top of the page. When you go there it will give the timestamp of the update for the stat you are viewing. Also next to the number that Dspy shows completed, does it show a number in parenthesis next to that number? If so that is what your system is waiting to send up to the server. I am running Linux so I have no Dspy to get a closer look at what is going on.

At the 19:30 timestamp it is showing you had 146 candidates done today

When you sign in to check your stats, it shows your individual nodes at the bottom. I am only checking the stats for one node and there is no timestamp on that pop up window. Dspy isn't showing any waiting to upload either.

Dspy currently shows this node as completing 106 for the day. Sengent shows 77. :|

If this is like this for more than a couple of days, I'm done. :(

It says I haven't joined a team...

I'm just going to rejoin Team Anandtech and hope everything is alright.

Edit:
I got a whole bunch of junk when I tried to rejoin. I don't understand it. Here's a few lines:

Error in page: Unexpected exception in com.sengent.vdl.registration.registrar.RegistrarBean.isOwner(): javax.ejb.FinderException: Problem in findByUniqueName while preparing or executing statement: 'weblogic.jdbc.rmi.SerialPreparedStatement@4af8f2': java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01003: no statement parsed java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01003: no statement parsed at

Guys we also have another project that could have some major support if D2OL keeps sucking! Team TA DF, Distributed Folding! We are currently 11 and the client is easy, to configure, to update, and run! Most of the time it only uploads and only downloads an update occassionally! Have had alot better success with DF than D2OL! Plus stats update every 10 minutes which is great for a stats junkie like me!:D

You're right this IS getting annoying. :disgust:

Well, if we do end up going to another project, I just want it to preferably be something medical related. F@H is fine, but there's no way to queue up work for outages. :(

Another benefit of DF is that you don't download work units, so you'll never be sitting there idle; it generates its results itself. It can queue up as many folds as you want before uploading. I believe this is similar to the eccp system (except you need to be connected to the internet some of the time to get protein updates.)

and then there's the white elephant race as well... ;)

TSC has had its share of problems but I am hoping it will get better soon with them taking it away from the Sengent people. They have lost some people because of the same problems d2ol has had.

I'm not sure what you are talking about. The team page has you listed so you are already a member of Team Anandtech.

Have you looked at the team stats? The teams we are about to pass are standing still. It is us and and the cows. The DPC stats indicate they are using junk hardware. Dock times are very high for them. They must have free electricity. The way I see it without Team Anandtech D2OL is screwed. I think our words on their forums should have encouraged communications betweeen us. Communication is the biggest problem with the sponser. This sponser is also a private company no doubt seeking to profit from this venture. I think we are being taken with this project. My rear is chapped, how about you? I am tired of having my donations being squandered, it has to stop. I think it is time to say. WE are not taking it any more. As I have stated before the only thing these people have going for them is US. I say we remove ourselves from the equation. I will not be treated like a mushroom ( fed sheiz and kept in the dark). The other teams seem to be on strike. The team in front of us put out less than 1k cand yesterday. I say we join them . I have stopped running D2OL . I recommend the entire team stop also. ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS . A strike or moratorium is in order. Our team speaks the loudest in this case; LET US BE HEARD I would like to invite the DPC and all other teams involved to join in a DISTRIBUTED UP YOURS . Distributed Computing is not government regulated maybe it should be. I really believe these people are taking us for a ride. They need to be chastised for the resourses they have wasted. Resources that can never be recovered on our end, but in their way of thinking is nothing with faster proccessers coming out all the time . They are arrogant with their silence. They need to be taught a lesson. I am not the team leader or anything this is my own opinion. Please look through the posts on Anandtech, D2OL, and TSC forums along with a search of Sengent on the web to form your own opinion before replying. They are mostly negative. If it was a reseller rating they would be gone.
