like in UO? i highly doubt it, i actually highly doubt you will ever see a game with full corpse looting again, the idea od dieing and losing everything is not appealing to many

That's not the only alternative. For starters it doesn't have to be generic to be relatively easy to get. Considering some gear takes weeks to obtain in WoW it's important to be relative here, lol

I have a question.
My friends and I have all preordered the game, and are planning on playing Chaos characters.
Can I choose any Destruction set of archetypes (Greenskin, Chaos, Dark Elves) and still play with them, or do I have to choose Chaos too?

You can still play with them being any Destro race. You can freely move between each front of the war (each racial pairing).

Corpse looting is in there, but it is a randomly generated object not something from that player. This works well , especially with RVR. You would easily end up having nothing if they did it the other way.

Yes in the Open Beta, which has not been released yet, but you have to be one of the first 50k people to enter your codes on the eamythic site.

I highly suggest using Amazon.com to preorder the game and get your keys, it's automatic and without hassle.

No, preorders can download the client on the august the 18th, but as to when they can play.. who knows?

From what I heard is that people who are part of the head start program will use the open beta client. Mythic will inevitably have a final patch to turn this client into the final retail version.
 
so far the only complaints that i have about the closed beta is that the combat XX XXX XXXX and that crafting XX XXXX XXXXXXXXX XX 2 XXX XXXXX XXXXXXX. maybe with open beta they will XXXXX XX XXX combat XXXXX. 😀

oh oh, the RVR scenarios, is pretty much a one sided battle (destruction wins) most of the time.

All joking aside though, I don't see how if you like MMOs you won't like this one. Granted, I haven't played it into very high levels but it does feel very polished (to me at least) early on and is going to give WoW a run for it's money.

It's a preemptive strike. But let's focus on WAR in this thread - like I said, even you just may like it. It has a very broad appeal, in the early levels at least, and some things, like the PQs are very innovative and fun not to mention addicting.
 
During an interview with one of the devs on G4 last week, he said he with about 800000 beta entries, the initial closed beta had about 25000 invites with another 75000 during the recent wave of additions.
 
Anyone have any information about how populations are looking? Any side look to be more populated? I'm hoping to be the underdog.
 
It says that one can download the client (but not play yet) if one has preordered, anyone been able to download the client from EAMythic's website that has preordered but as of yet not in the beta?

You'll only be able to download it when they make it available, and if you input your pre-order code for the open beta. I suggest keeping an eye on WAR Herald and Warhammer Alliance for updates ...

If the beta is any indication then Destruction is going to be more populated (kinda figures that anyway).
 
Open Beta Start Date

Sweet jesus... September 7th?! Ridiculously late for open beta. About a week and a half of open beta before the product releases. Sounds like they are trying to keep as few as people on the 'in' on what this game is like. I really want to know how it plays, because I'm interested as long as it's not a carbon copy of WoW. But I don't want to pay $50 to find out during the free month that I hate it. Might have to put $5 down on pre-order just so I can get a 'trial' during the open beta.

honestly if you have been following this game you would know it is nothing like WoW, totally different goals. Watch some of the videos with the devs showing things off, it is the most up to date and best info you can get on the game right now
