Wind: N at 5 mph (8 km/h)
Sunrise: 5:51 AM
Sunset: 8:42 PM

The expected temperature is: 97 degrees!!

Okay so maybe it isn't as hot as where you guys are, but I'm not used these high temperatures.

You pansy. ;)Talk to me after you've lived a summer in Phoenix or worse yet vacationed in Louisiana or Florida in August. 83 with 74% humidity here and the sun has not been out all day. It's probably worse than Oregon and it is a cool low humidity day, 90-95 F and 60-90% is the norm for this time of year here.

Hagg Lake is down 47 just before you get to Gaston. Man-made lake. Surprisingly clear most of the time, but I imagine the water level is getting pretty low, and often there are jerks churning up the water on jet skis/motorboats that go too damn fast (well, if you're out there in a kayak or canoe.) Nice place to go rowing early in the morning.

Indeed.

It's 99F at the Portland International Airport right now.

18% humidity.

There have to be better places to go than Hagg Lake. I've never been there, I've heard good things about it.. but shrug.

It's only a 30 minute drive up Highhway 26 to get into Welches, and then you've got several rivers to choose from.

I doubt it will be this hot in a couple of weeks.

We only average one 100 degree day a year or something like that.

There is Blue Lake over here on the East side. It's pretty fun.

You Portlanders don't have it too bad.
Of course we are a little more used to the heat, and more people here probably have AC. In Medford, it's usually in the 90's for most of the summer, and we usually get quite a few 100 degree days.

But 107 here today doesn't feel much worse than when I was in New Orleans in May and it was 90 degrees with 70% humidity.

:D

We were in Medford a couple of weeks ago for our Family Reuinion(My mothers side is from there). We camped out at the Fish Lake resort. It was a good 10 - 15 degrees cooler in the mountains than in town. We had to make a couple of town runs for some food and beer, and it was unbearable.. even with the windows down.

Yeah, it sucks if you don't have AC.
I grew up in Eugene.
Winters in Medford are much nicer. A lot more sun and a lot less rain and grey clouds.
But summer in Medford is way too hot. I really miss the Willamette Valley summers.

i only have AC in my room so i don't venture out to the rest of the house, let alone outside. good thing i got my mini-fridge stocked with plenty of guinness and coke before it started getting so hot.

I've never been to Hagg lake so I don't really know. Blue Lake isn't really very senic, but it has designated swimming areas.

Usually quite a few people there.
