I was down at Crater Lake just before the 4th of July, and there was still snow there! We were on our way home from Cali (Davis/Sacramento and Yosemite) so it was really strange.
End of heat wave in sight: 80s starting tomorrow.

We've been wanting to visit Crater Lake ever since they received those new tour boats. It will be our first time there
How long of a drive from Portland is it and what cities nearby offer affordable and comfortable lodging?
Battle Ground Lake (NE of Vancouver - no power boats), Vancouver Lake (no power boats), Clackamas River (Clackamette Park), anywhere on the East Fork of the Lewis River (Paradise, Moulton Falls, Heisson Bridge, Sunrise), North Fork of the Lewis River (east of Woodland, WA -- Merwin Lake, Yale Lake, Swift Resevoir), Washougal River (Doogan Falls), Sandy River (Oxbow, Lewis and Clark), Columbia River (Wintler, Dintler, Kelley Pointe, Sauvie Island).Originally posted by: bleeb
Where else is a good lake, besides HAGG lake??
Are you serious? That's way too expensive. Sure, it's interesting, but come on!!Originally posted by: BigDan
Warning: don't bother to go to Wildlife Safari at Winston. They doubled entrance prices to something like 18 per adult and 11 per kid. That's just unreasonable. Until earlier this year, I could get in for free with my Oregon Zoo membership, now they want us to pay 1/2 price (which is, coincidently, about the same as full price not long ago.) I remember when they charged like 8 bucks a carload.
