Its high time the boy scouts allowed freethinkers to join.

Not really sure about that. Most people I know really don't give a F about gays one way or the other, which includes 'support for the cause'. If they want their kid to be in Scouts, their kid will be in Scouts (unless their kid is openly gay).

I'd say Scouting attendance issues are more society not caring about what the Scouts do and looking at it as 'not cool' more than anything.

Hard to replace your traditional merit badges with Xbox merit badge, Playstation merit badge, etc. Then you've got the problem of Scouting revolving around the outdoors, which again is demographic that to me seems to be going more negative that positive on the numbers scale.

Lots bigger fish to fry for them than this...

The point remains: organizations that don't adapt to societal changes will either shrink considerably or die.

Agreed. However, in the respect of the Scouts losing any significant number of kids because their parents - or the kids themselves - refuse to participate because the Scouts are not gay accepting, that's not something I'd see the Scouts needing to budge on in fear of a significant numbers hit.

I said no such thing, but you're too much of a stupid ass to possibly comprehend that.

Maybe you need to stop and think before assuming and lobbing useless insults around. Grow up. That was in reference to the OP's ridiculous claim. I figured someone who claimed to be super intelligent could figure that out.

You quoted me, not the OP, and had just one paragraph of response. There is NO possible way to make any logical conclusion but that you were directing it at me.

Learn how to communicate or learn to accept people not taking things the way you wanted.

Given the trend in acceptance/support of homosexuals/homosexuality, that's not at all certain in the long run.

It's hard to know. There will always be groups who have particular preferences in association. In twenty years? Who can say?

What I find amusing is that some who call for "free thinking" (not directed at you) are some of the most unaccepting of others around. Not surprisingly free thinking often means "you are free to think like I do". Similar to my definition of bipartisanship, which I define as the majority party inviting the minority to accept their views and the minority cooperating by opposing the majority.

Such is life.
