Well look at this, his energy secretary nominee wanted to eliminate the department of... energy. Without even knowing what it does.

Anyway this is all moot. Apparently there is likely to be a number of lawsuits regarding Trump's conflicts of interests and failure to divest from his businesses that will likely lead to discovery processes that will supeona his taxes.

Literally the second he takes office tomorrow be can be sued by a number of hotels in washington for profitably operating trump hotel using a federal leased building to their financial detriment. His taxes would certainly be part of such a discovery process for such a suit. Similarly if that lady who is currently suing him for defamation takes things far out enough, she can request his tax returns.

Isn't Trump shielded from lawsuits while in office? His administration might get sued, I guess, but I'm not so sure that's even going to happen. Trump is vindictive, and also quite pliable. I imagine corporate execs will be looking for ways to funnel him money.

Expect states to come after him with lawsuits for anything and everything. Judicial branch is still a check and balance, and they just need to start proceedings for discovery to bring out the tax returns and probably a lot more.

His stubbornness won't actually be rewarded.

As far as Benghazi, that was more the Ambassadors fault on his own part, he was not even in a real established embassy or there would have been a Marine detachment there to begin with.

It would take years to go through Trump's Taxes. It is more paper than the budget document that congress prepares every year. Besides, the Federal Government or the IRS does an audit every year.

It would most certainly not take years to go through his taxes. Anyway, why do you care how long it will take people to go through them? You aren't paying them to do it so it shouldn't worry you.

It is pretty interesting to see the excuses shift over time:
1) He can't release them, they're under audit.
2) Oh, that doesn't prevent him from releasing them? Well you wouldn't find anything interesting in them anyway.
3) Oh, you can find lots of interesting things from them? Well it's too much work so don't worry about it.

I would appreciate it if they just came right out and said "I believe there will be things in his tax returns that will be politically damaging to Trump therefore I don't want him to release them". We all know that's the reason so why not just own up to it?

Well, several IRS auditors have testified that there is nothing within an audit that prevents him from releasing them.

As always, Donald the Orangeman deflects blame elsewhere.
