Looks like Damon Lindelof is involved in writing the screenplay. This means we can expect EPIC (we're talking Prometheus-level here) plot holes, unresolved issues, nonsensical character decisions...

Uh Oh. I guess they were in purgatory.

I didn't dislike it, it was OK. But some scenes like the Katana fight scene, were just SOOOOO over the top. That dude was not supposed to be an expert sword fighter, and WTF would they be fighting with swords any way? Action for the excuse of over the top action.

I also didn't like the story very much at all. Too cliche and over the top

I enjoyed the first one, this one looks cool too. Definitely totally different and more action focused, but it is enjoyable!

That trailer was stupid. Just explosions and nonsense.

The last movie was awesome. If this is as good I'll see it for sure. But the trailer was blah.

Funnily enough, in this pic Sulu is trying to fight Kirk, and he gets bitched slapped. Literally bitch slapped. Knocked the F*** OUT! In the new verse, Sulu is tougher than Kirk. What kind of shit is that...
Sure, but creative licensing and whatnot. Just saying it's not a stretch at all to say Sulu uses swords, or that melee weapons are used in the ST universe. They have been used in ever incarnation of ST.

Sulu using swords is consistent with TOS, but Kirk should be tougher in new incarnation. Klingons also train with melee weapons, and Riker used some lame padded staff in his practice of Anbo-jitsu. So its not unreasonable in that context.

Explosions and nonsense are exactly what they were going for.
If you have an action movie you should, I guess, show some action?
I don't think people were expecting to see Spock calculating the odds during the trailer:cool:

I think he was involved in the previous one also. Hopefully the collaborators shoot-down or fix any of the "contributions" from DL.

It appears they've decided to jettison the comedy completely? At least from that bit, of course trailers can be deceptive.

Either way, I'm in. I had plenty of fun with the last one.

Same here. It was a ride! I can nerd it up with the Trekkiest of them and even I could enjoy it for what it was: Star Trek for the masses. It doesn't have to be just for me. I have classic Trek for me.

And with plenty of fast-paced action and other stuff specifically designed to distract the viewer from realizing that they're being conned until the movie's over and there's time for reflection.

People really need to stop hiring that hack. I'm so sick of his substance-less, smoke-and-mirrors bullshit that never delivers.

Did you watch the epic trailers for the previous movie? Not a hint of comedy to be found. Actually, FAR more epic (showing planetary destruction and epic music).

Worked for me. Clicked link, clicked banner, scrolled down and watched the one with "JP" in the title.
he needs to link properly or explain what he wants done.

I need to get some sleep because i am having trouble focusing.

Not sure what you mean. He said that the Japanese Star Trek into Darkness trailer had 11 extra seconds. If you chose to play something other than the Japanese one or didn't even click "Star Trek," well, that's on you.

There's a difference between "clown" humor and "ironic/moment of weakness" humor. I really felt the Pegg was totally miscast as Scott. He comes off as more of a "I don't know what I'm doing but I luck out all the time and get the job done."

He's kind of the same character as Inspector Gadget :D
