I have been trying to shop my state's exchange because my current plan is too costly. unfortunately the site is down, my agent is unable to get clear answers, and the state doesn't answer the phone.
in the mean time I got notice from my current insurance company my rates will be jumping 125/month to 633/month for my family of 3 (I'm 34 yrs old) . Keep in mind I have a grandfathered plan with a $7400 deductible that does not include the expanded "essential health benefits".... it cites the following reasons for the rate increase:
1.)The cost of health care services, such as hospital and physician visits, continue to rise
2.) The overall use of health care services is increasing
^^^ are you f^cking kidding me??? I'm glad we have a government plan that addresses those issues........
oh, not only that, the new rates used to go into effect April 1st. Now with new federal health care reform requirements they will go into effect January 1
