Embattled Rep. Tom DeLay's hopes of reclaiming his post as House majority leader suffered a setback Friday as fellow Republicans called for new leadership in the midst of a congressional corruption scandal.
Days after lobbyist Jack Abramoff pleaded guilty in courtrooms in two cities, a pair of GOP lawmakers circulated a petition calling for elections to pick a permanent replacement for DeLay. The Texas lawmaker temporarily relinquished his leadership post last year following indictment on campaign finance charges in his home state.

Anything to get this corrupt individual out of power is A-OK with me.

People like him should have their citizenship revoked and be sent to live on one of our territorial provinces and never be allowed to live on mainland US.

at a "luau" (celebratory meal), we dig an "imu" (oven in the form of an open pit in the ground), throw in rocks heated white hot (red hot at night), lay down banana plant trunks over that, then banana leaves over that (for steaming),then the wire mesh(for ease of pulling the food out of the ground) then the "pig" (delay), the "turkeys" (his crooked business associates), the "chickens" (his crooked fellow politicians) and "assorted vegetables" (his crooked lawyers and supporters ) gets tossed in, then more banana leaves on top of that (them), then water-soaked burlap bags on that, and all of that gets covered by loose dirt. then let steam for 8-12 hrs until tender.

mmm..mmmm..mmmm...so "ono" (delicious)--( well, "delicious" meaning the "idea of how they get cooked" rather than the act of dining itself.) alooooooha. 😀

Wow - I've never really had a hankering to visit Hawaii, but THIS sounds so tasty that I'll have to plan it...I mean the pig version, not DeLay's roast. Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....

On the East Coast, we do something similar with a pit and a heap of shellfish, but somehow the pig makes it sound MUCH juicier and tastier...does the skin get crisped and blackened?

I'm not too sure if DeLay is the loser here. He is going to retire a multi-millionaire from the millions he stole from all of us. He won't do one minute in the Slammer. He'll still has all his money connections. DeLay is a lying, thieving weasel, but he's getting out on top and there's nothing any of us can do about it. Final score: DeLay 21 The People 3.
 
If 'Tookie' Williams could run the Crips from his prision cell, DeLay should be capable of running his fellow
crooks from deep inside of any prison, purty mouth, and all.
 
Well-------it seems its finally dawning on Delay that he is so radioactive that no one will touch him.
The question now is can he escape the slammer. If he fails in his bid to get the Texas Supreme Court
to stop Ronnie Earl from prosecuting him he will likely have to deal with a partian Republican Justice department
from prosecuting him. But now that the hope that he can regain his majority leader position is exactly zero, look
for Delay's defense strategy to turn into a full court stall. With any luck Delay's best hope may lie in the justice department
giving Ronnie Earl the first wack at Delay.------and Delay relishing every minute as a free man.

Meanwhile old Ray Blunt-----his fellow rat who would step aside for Delay when he returned is unlikely to get the nod either.
Gonna be an interesting side show to see who gets the nod.-------a brief breeze of fresh air before Washington goes back to business as usual.-------enjoy it while it lasts
