For me, its http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTTP_404. I don't have one or a license. Some day if I ever live in a rural area, Ill probably buy a little cub or maybe a 250 bike, just for cruising around the countryside... but Id never want to ride in the city or suburbs or "exurbs" as some call them.

This bike was fast, surprised I didn't kill myself on it.

This would kill me.

I'm going to post a picture of nothing, because I don't have one :( My wife said I could get one once I hit director. Which probably won't happen if I keep posting on AT instead of working...

You will be sad to see her go but congrats on the new bike! make sure and post some pics :D

Currently bike-less since last summer. Sold my Honda Magna, just wasn't riding much any more. Spring is the worst though really feeling the itch. Might go rent something for a weekend just to scratch it.

Saw one of these at the local monthly meet-up yesterday. Frankly, I think it looks kind of ridiculous with 6 cylinders for only 1000ccs of displacement, but this particular one was in excellent condition. It basically looked just like this photo:

1979 Honda CBX. Had one in 1980. Same color. It had the most unique sound of any bike. At 9k, it sounded bad-ass. Handled like crap, and the carbs were a bitch to keep sync'ed. But the very first ones here put out 138 h.p. Then they got de-tuned to 103hp mid-year, and for 1980, it dropped to like 97h.p. Not much would beat it in a straight line.... Wish I had kept it. Clean ones are fetching almost 5 figures...

Those bikes sound awesome. Would love to borrow someone's for a weekend. Supposed to be a very interesting riding experience.
However, I wouldn't want to own one. My days of cleaning and balancing carbs are done. Doing that on 6 carbs after running modern ethanol blends? No thanks.
Until I move to an area where I ride year round...nope.

The blue scooter is no longer here, and I'm going to be selling one of the CX500s soon. May even sell the red scooter if it doesn't get used much this season.

I have an irrational desire to own a CX500. If only I had the spare money and space at the moment.

My main bike (now that my '82 CB450SC is semi-retired) and my buddy's Suzuki S40 yesterday afternoon:

Here's what I can tell you: the CX500 is actually really easy to work on, but you shouldn't own one if you're not willing to work on it yourself. If you can do that, you can (pretty cheaply!) own one of the most bullet-proof engines Honda ever made. Reports of CX500 (and GL500) engines reaching well over 200K miles are not uncommon with routine maintenance and one or two engine-out repairs along the way.

Basically, there's 2 things that'll make you have to drop the engine: the cam chain and the stator. Sometimes also the mechanical seal behind the water pump impeller if that fails, but there are ways to do that without dropping the engine. They speak of the "Triple Bypass" -- if you have to do one of the first two, might as well do all three.

Usually a bike will make it a good 40K-60K miles before that though.

A good shot of mine:

You can just stop at Honda :). There's a guy on youtube with a CBR600RR going over 100k miles on original engine.

I know a guy who has about 300K on his CBR600. A couple of others wit the 250K.
These are people who track their bikes as well as use them as daily riders.

Have seen the same across a wide variety of bikes.

Actually a lot of bikes will last just as long. Most people sell them or wreck them extremely early in the bikes lifespan.

some nice rides in here :D

here's mine as i took her out for the first ride of the season a couple weeks ago:

2013 Yamaha FZ6R, can't believe it's already my third season riding! Glad I chose this as my first bike, seems to suit me perfectly and I'm not bored of it yet. I will probably upgrade to the FZ1 or something like it in the next couple of years, or just keep the FZ6R and add another bike, if my circumstances allow it.

have about 10K KM so far, all purely joyous and trouble-free. starting to do some of the most basic stuff myself because i just don't trust the stealerships after my experiences for the first and second maintenance at two different places. looking at getting some goodies for it this season if i can (touring windscreen, dash cam, storage, fender eliminator and flushmount turn signals, etc etc).

can't wait!

Literbikes? :sneaky:

I just picked up a Givi tankbag for my Multistrada. It clips onto a ring you mount permanently on the gas cap trim ring. It is 25l and it looks pretty good on my bike. Plus, it is huge yet doesn't interfere with my view of the dash or any of the controls. I'm pretty impressed with it.

Trying to sell it this season since my apartment complex complains about having it there during the winter, and someone stole my cover, tried messing with it while I was not home.
