It doesn't take them 5 years to make the knife. They have a backlog of people who want them so it's going to take the extra time. And yes alot of shops are Mom and Pop type places not like Buck or the Big Companies. T

Yeah I have a Kershaw by Ken Onion that I have had for years, good knife.
 
I have a Kershaw chive thats been good to me the past few years.
Plenty of times when I dont want to lug around a big knife and it takes care of me.
