I've got two now.

One a few months ago during a $299 sale. The second on black friday for $250.

I've got one at work and now one at home. I was saving up for a Dell 30" ... but I couldn't pass on this value.

I got one, it's Sept 07 model. It is AWESOME. I calibrated it using some images found online and run it at 37 brightness, 42 contrast, 38/38/34 RGB which makes sense with the extremetech review saying blue was a little too high by default. There was a slight hiss but thankfully it was from the speakers, and so I turned the volume down and it's great now. Viewing angle is HUGE this is not a TN! I know this last part is YMMV but mine has 1920x1200 pixels working perfectly, no dead or stuck after an exhaustive search. The only coupon I think that could be used in store was a $10 off $50 you can pick up on eBay but I didn't have time so mine was about $320 including sales tax. WHAT A DEAL

Some cons: The stand is very cheap feeling piece of plastic. It adjusts maybe 1 degree downward and maybe 15 degrees upward. The OSD is buggy and annoying. There is no "back" button so when you get into a menu on the OSD and want to go backwards you basically have to let it time out and start from the beginning again. Also when you set the color temperature to USER like I have, when you go back into that setting it reports the numbers incorrectly as follows:

I set it to 38/38/34 and exit (the fastest way to exit is to press the volume button to bring up that display and press volume again to make it go away)

I go back into the color temperature setting and it says they are at 50/50/34 even though they aren't. If I go to red and click + to change it, it will go to 39, not a big deal but it's weird.

I would summarize this LCD as follow: budget monitor built around a nice LCD panel.

You hit the nail on the head. It's truly a great LCD with a nice panel. It won't win any beauty awards for the way it looks, but the display is all that matters. I bought this and a Samsung 22" TN panel on Black Friday & the Soyo was hands down the better LCD. The color representation was just amazing and the view angle between the two was very noticeable. The Samsung colors would shift as you looked at it from different angles, while the Soyo was solid from whatever angle you looked at it.

My Soyo experience was not without it's issues tho. I'm currently on my 4th panel due to the fact that the other 3 were defective, developing solid lines across the screen. So far, this one has been flawless. I'm willing to keep exchanging it until I get a good one because of the price I paid ($300 including OfficeMax 1yr warranty). It also helps that I have at least 3 OfficeMax within 10 miles of my home.

:)

I printed-out the sale PDF went to my local B&M and I got one for $250. I figured if I hated it, I could just return it - no hassle with rebates or return shipping...

I use a Dell_ 2407 and 2405 for my main video editing screens, but I needed a cheap panel to keep an eye on my render-only rigs.

After adjusting, the picture quality looks just as good as my Dells, and for less than half what I paid for those. The speaker is good enough to test playback of my DVDs. It doesn't have A/V inputs like the others, but I didn't need them for this application.

This one's a keeper!

My wifes seems to have developed the green and red dancing pixels. I tried different cables and video cards but nothing seems to get rid of it completely. I got it the first time it went on sale so it had been good for quite awhile.

OfficeMax.com doesn't seem to have the 24" listed anymore. It only shows the 17" & 19" Soyo's.

I`ve had the 24" Soyo for 2 months now and and it has been perfect so far.
1920x1200 resolution runs perfectly on an old Dell 8400 computer.

One thing I did that I saw mentioned somewhere was to replace the factory
stand with one from Staples, a Neo-Flex, about $28.00.
The Neo-Flex looks and feels high quality and adjusts up and down, tilts back
and forward/side to side and portrait mode.
Love this stand, it screws on in the factory provided holes, makes the monitor
so much more adjustable.

Replacing the DVI cable with a higher quality one is supposed to fix the red and green "sparkles" when playing movies. This is the first I've heard that it did not fix the problem.

I did the same but honestly I would have been okay with the crappy original one.

I picked up one of these on Black Friday...still sitting in the box. I was thinking about giving it to my wife but not sure if it is compatible with her video card. It is a PNY GeForce4 Ti4200. Will this card support the 1900x1200 resolution?

Anyone able to put an order through online or over the phone for this? I have a 30/150 coupon that I want to use but it doesn't work in store. Thanks.

I think the MaxAssurance is relatively cheap so it might not be a bad idea. I always make large purchases with my AMEX and add another year of warranty for free.

I bought it with my AMEX card and have heard that one year of warranty thing before, how would I claim it in case something happened? is there a place I can read about the details? Does it cover all kinds of stuff? I bought a lenovo laptop with amex also, and I heard about the AMEX warranty too just never understood the details.

I purchased a Dell laptop on my AMEX, after about 18 months the audio/headphone port started to malfunction. I simply called AMEX and told them about the problem.

After they verified some info (took a couple of days) AMEX paid to have the laptop sent for repair. The repair facility could not find new parts so AMEX decided not to put in used parts.

I had spent about $1700 on the laptop and AMEX said they could replace it with a similar laptop or give me a $1500 credit on my card. Since I was now out of school I didn't 'need' a lappy anymore so I took the credit.

I have had a few minor claims (mostly computer parts) and my parents had the Canon 'stuck lens' camera error; in most of these minor claims you just throw away the broken part and you are refunded your entire purchase price.

I believe the only thing you have to do is point out when you purchased the item. There are some minor caveats such as shipping is not refunded, the entire purchased has to made via AMEX, they 'only' cover a certain amount per year, etc but overall it is a painless process. This is one of the main reasons that I use my AMEX for most purchases.
